Scott Collette @scottcollette.bsky.social · 14hFrom LIFE Magazine, this is an article about the emerging technology of television published in 1937, but if you squint hard enough at this paragraph, it kinda sounds like it's about AI. 020

Scott Collette @scottcollette.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Hahaha surely you’ve heard enough of them by now. I remember that you gave me my favorite response when I confessed to learning how to format screenplays from scripts that my friends and I dug out of a dumpster behind a San Antonio recording studio in 1998. “PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS TRUE!!” 110

Scott Collette @scottcollette.bsky.social · 03/10/2026...though I didn't fully recognize that until I saw this Scorsese commercial in 1998, which I taped and watched 4,000 times. Sure, QT/Sundance movies were cool, but here I was being enlightened to the full power of cinema, and how it can (and does) change the world. www.youtube.com/watch?v=roaQ...youtube.comU.S. Satellite Broadcasting with Martin Scorsese Ad #2 (1998)YouTube video by Movie & Video Game TV Spots 120
Scott Collette @scottcollette.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Well, also I fractured my jaw in bike accident in '97. Memorial Day weekend. I was 14 and spent most of my summer watching every movie in the house and then asking to go to the video store 3x a week. That definitely showed me how cinema could teleport me out of my misery into worlds I'd never known. 110
Scott Collette @scottcollette.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I don't know my real answer. Desperado maybe? North by Northwest? All I know is I loved movies as a kid, and when Tarantino won the MTV award for Pulp Fiction, his speech made filmmaking seem like the coolest job in the world. Any inspiration after that just reaffirmed a decision I'd already made. 110
