Honestly, even as someone who's prone to overthinking the logistics of this kinda stuff, it's easy to just go "he's a shape-shifting demon" and boom. I always thought it was a funny contrast, so it never really bugged me since Hazbin Hotel is far from a realistically grounded setting anyway.

I find that I stick to canon closely for the most part cause that helps me feel like my character is part of the setting (and so I have less risk of having my headcanons destroyed by canon lore as it comes out). But people go way overboard with it. They're headcanons, don't like don't look. Easy.
