Chicago White Sox Manager Wil Venable has announced that they are calling up pitcher Graham Tyler to start Wednesday’s playoff game against the Guardians. Venable has also confirmed that Grant Taylor will be available for “4 or 5 innings” out of the bullpen.

Was in my native Chicago this weekend and returned to my adopted home of Milwaukee tonight. Was driving and not checking my phone from 6ish until just now and feel like I’ve emerged from a baseball vortex. Very happy for my Brewers friends who’ve been very happy for me their White Sox friend.

I will have many more thoughts on the Baseball Hall of Fame but for now I will tell you that White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle #56 — multi-time All-Star, perfecter of games, negative of hitters, winner AND buzzed saver of World Series games — deserves more of a presence than this

Walking in my neighborhood on the not so bad smoky day and remembering the second half of March 2020 when all the cars were parked. I saw the clearest sky I’d ever seen. We need to demand so much more of ourselves as a caretaker species.
