3-star review from me on letterboxd:

I honestly did like a lot of this, but I have to say I was really disappointed that Wilson starts the documentary by reinforcing three harmful myths about affordable housing: that there is already enough housing construction happening, that building housing doesn't actually create affordable housing, and that a significant share of new housing is vacant.

When that's the frame, it's hard not to read all the oxygen he subsequently gives to rich anti-housing NYC homeowners as fundamentally a little too sympathetic. Certainly not uncritical. But too sympathetic. I don't think this was intentional, and it's obviously not a bad thing to understand where people are coming from, but cities are thorny subjects that are extremely prone to misinformation. I think it warrants extra care.

I appreciated the invocation of the concept of samsara and the inevitability of change toward the end, and "make lemonade" was the right way to tie it all up. Wilson has a superhuman ability to weave humanity out of thin air and an equally superhuman ability to stage a gag. It's highly watchable.

I try to avoid the truly stupefying facebook-comment-section-type discussions this kind of incident always triggers, but it does make me sad to see the general public radicalized against B&M clamshell restraints. Without question the very best roller coaster restraint ever designed.
test seat for Nitro at Six Flags Great Adventure. B&M's classic clamshell restraint design, in use on all of their hyper- and gigacoaster installations. A slightly reclined seat with a large comfy lap restraint that hugs your whole thigh, much as a loving parent might embrace their child

Flying Viking, the new Zamperla junior coaster. truly atrocious capacity (I waited 50 godforsaken minutes for this) and weirdly rough, but it fills the kiddie coaster/beginner family coaster niche the park was lacking

No more of my money tossed her way. As a side note, I don’t think the word transphobic is strong enough. It’s not about fear but about hatred instead. She’s not a transphobe. She’s a trans hater."

Holiday World announced their new water coaster today and to my utter delight it is themed to a PUBLIC POOL and COMMUNITY CENTER! extremely cute!!!
Holiday World's 2027 water coaster, CannonballHoliday World's 2027 water coaster, CannonballBoulder Canyon is getting bigger, taller, and SPLASHIER in 2027 with CANNONBALL! The first and only water roller coaster in the Midwest will have families piling into eight-passenger floats, climbing 90 feet into the sky, and rocketing through more than 1,000 feet of twisting coaster track at 45 mph before splashing down in the Boulder Canyon Community Pool. Cannonball! is the fastest water roller coaster in the nation and features the tallest drop at 75 feet.

Part roller coaster, part water ride. This isn’t your neighbor’s slip and slide!

Travel to scenic Boulder Canyon for the 37th Annual Cannonball Competition at the Boulder Canyon Community Center. Thanks to the ingenuity of Elmer Raines, the competition now allows group entries, and they sure make a splash! Will your team win? There’s only one way to find out. Look out for Ron the Swan and Ron Swan’s Son after you take the plunge!

Dovolis said construction on what developers are calling Iconic Plaza [the name is highlighted by me because it's terrible] would begin within months and last two-to-five years. He said the firm was not planning to demolish any buildings, but expected they would convert office space into housing and possibly build towhomes on the tops of existing parking garagesHank Hill looking exhausted and unimpressed
