There are no US bases in the UK. It's RAF Fairford, a British base on loan to the USA. I don't think Mr Rubio is trying to start WW3, he's most unlikely to know what red diesel is, and he has no idea what he's talking about. Making guesses and random claims where a wiser person would keep quiet.

A name is no more than a matter of convenience. We can (and should) meet anywhere; a river bank is enough, or a market place, someone’s home or a hired room. We must not fall into the trap of separating church into denominations. There's only one church; it happens to meet in many places.
100
Chris Jefferies @scilla.org.uk · 01/09/2026
Does a church need a name? A name is not required, it’s important to state that; because the name doesn’t help to define church. 1st Century believers talked about Lydia’s House. or the gathering at Corinth? They knew what we have often forgotten.

Paul writes of 'the church at Ephesus' or 'at Corinth'. Surely this suggests multiple churches? Not so, the sense is of one church in multiple places. How can this work? And how are we to get back to such a state of affairs? We need to understand networks. jhm-old.scilla.org.uk/2012/05/chur...

If we have a name it must be HIS name! We are the people who follow Jesus, led by his Spirit, his church in this place, his church meeting at so-and-so's house, or in such-and -such a village or district. Anything beyond that is just plain disobedient. jhm.scilla.org.uk/2026/07/14/p...

We need to get rid of our names, recognise that we have differences in understanding that we cannot overcome, but accept that we are, nonetheless, one body of which Jesus is the head. We must show the world that we're not a bunch of separate groups, but that we are one.

Chris Jefferies @scilla.org.uk · 20/07/2026
Church is Christ's body. Tell me, how many bodies does he have? And what is a denomination? It's a named subdivision. How can these two statements coexist in any logically constructed universe? But how are we to correct this?
100
Chris Jefferies @scilla.org.uk · 20/07/2026
It's deeply troubling that church has divided itself into denominations and still continues to do so today. Why? Because Jesus clearly intended it to remain one single entity. 'I will build my church' is a singular statement in both senses of the word 'singular'.
