I really like that learning to draw means I can take stupid ideas from my brain and just create them Anyway, here is today's art practice

A crude drawing of Norman Reedus as Sam Porter America Bridges Strand from the hit game DEATH STRANDING 2: On The Beach. He is standing next to Hornet from Hollow Knight Silksong and saying "We're gonna have to kill this guy, Silksong." - Hornet Silksong responds with her classic line "SHAW!"

DRAWING EVERY DAY UNTIL I CAN DRAW GOOD - DAY 13/14 - THE END We got there , I practiced drawing every day for two weeks. Drawings from now on will be 1-2 a week instead of everyday so I can focus on other creative outlets But we did accomplish our goal, I can safely say that I can draw good now 🫡

This is the exact reason I finally removed Twitter from my phone but kept Bluesky on my phone. I don't feel the endless scroll urge on this app and when I'm at my computer I can't look at social media for more than like 5 minutes before my brain tells me to do something fun/productive with my time

DRAWING EVERY DAY UNTIL I CAN DRAW GOOD - DAY 5 Today's session took A LOT outta me but I gotta say the results are pretty good, followed a tutorial for basic shading technique that really improved the look of the drawing but getting there was a real uphill climb

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

Frustrated little dude gripping a pencil saying “how do I pack this down into something I can actually share?” While swirling rainbows labeled “INFINITE POTENTIAL” float around them.

Little dude frowns at a tiny grey box, exclaiming “all that work for THIS?!”

Little dude shoves the grey box into another little guy’s hands; Frowning, stomping off, and saying “Here you go, I made this, it sucks.”

Second little dude cracks open the box, swirling rainbows project out onto their face.

Second little dude stares in awe at all the swirling rainbows now floating around them.

My interpretation of why they used Principality instead of Kingdom is because the ruling power seems to be divided among the Duke and all the Zabi heirs Like Kycilla, Gihren, Dozle and Garma all have their own separate armies loyal to them and their projects It's a bit like the Holy Roman Empire

Context: I used to draw a ton back in high school and almost went to art college before dropping out twice instead (lmao). So it's been about 10 years since i drew anything and I decided holding myself to drawing something everyday will actually force me to relearn the skill + learn digital art.

MGS: Delta Post-Playthru Thoughts (Opinion Subject To Change)

Screenshot of a Discord message that reads: "MGS DELTA THOUGHTS - MAIN GAME ONLY, HAVEN'T PLAYED SIDE MODES YET

-Virtually identical to the og, but in a way that feels redundant rather than faithful

-Controls suck ass, especially cause the game says legacy controls are "same as the original game" and their completely different - your mileage may vary tho

-Gwaphics are a mixed bag, obv the fidelity is higher but again their so alike to the original that they feel lacking - some effects dont work in the new style, good but nothing about them "wowed me"

-Virtually every easter egg/hidden thing from mgs3 is in with some new collectables tossed in - Guy Savage by platinumgames was the high point of the day

-Unreal Engine causes frame drops/crashes and runs at like 50 fps on my pc with no upscale which is more than og ps2 but less than my ps2 emulator

Conclusion: Delta is good, but it's good because it's basically a ps2 iso with ue5 gwaphics and new controls slapped on

PS: I also might be biased because I play MGS3 five times a year unlike the average gamer who hasnt played it since like 2011 at latest"

ARTISTS - quick question for ya'll I recently dusted off the drawing tablet I impulse bought 4 years ago and decide I wanna try re-learning art a real shot. What software/learning resources would ya'll recommend for someone who hasn't drawn in 10+ years and never done digital art before? 🙏
