Oh sweet heart, you need to convert American dollars to Canadian. What language do you speak?

Try converting U.S. $ to Canadian $ and dividing by 3.78 to get the price per litre, those prices work out to about $2.48/L for regular and $3.25/L for diesel. GasBuddy shows current Canadian prices at $1.69–$1.81/L for regular and $2.49–$2.59/L for diesel. So no, gas isn't more expensive in Canada.

It is Smith’s/separtist knees down approach, scamming Albertans into to believing she has their best interests while she is auctioning off the province to the USA.

Bannon knows he is lying, just like Smith knows she is lying. They are paid influencer trying create the world her sponsors want. Note: Smith does what she wants, lies about it to voters and then pretends she doing what voters want such as privatizing healthcare.

So how does this help Albertans? Instead of investing in public health care, she's using public dollars to expand private care. If the public system worked well, why would people pay? The public system has to be weakened to make the private system seem like the better option.

Why do some Democrats echo Republican talking points by conflating access to public healthcare, childcare, and education with socialism?

Firstly, the Nordic countries are not socialist; they are capitalist social democracies. So why does the author refer to them as socialist? If the intention is to compare the United States with a socialist country, China would be a more appropriate example.

If she spent less taxpayer money on self-promotion, stopped giving it to her friends, quit wasting it on creating a two-tier healthcare and education system, and stopped punishing people with disabilities, she wouldn't need to be having this conversation.

She's losing traction in the polls, so she's trying to pin the blame for her MOU's failure on the NDP, and specifically taint Nenshi. While in reality, the project's failure is due to its landlocked location and dwindling demand, making it unappealing to private investors .

But she will blame the Libs and NDP and then her low information voters in Alberta will eat it up. She never takes responsibility.

Just think what could happen if the UCP cared about Albertans and didn’t waste public dollars on internal politics to stay in power or pushing their ideology on the rest of us.

Nah.. Danielle Smith is a separatist, she is just faking the federalist thing.

scienceslave.bsky.social @scienceslave.bsky.social · 06/06/2026
Yup, the separatist arguments lack logic, and the UCP/conservatives are quick to fuel the fire while shifting the blame to the federal government for their own incompetence, or Nenshi 🙄.

Well they're quite ideological, adhering to "free markets, everyone on their own, and freedom, but do what I want." However, private healthcare can only survive if it drains the public purse while people are being manipulated by propaganda, and the wolves are now running the hen house. 😞

Living in rural Alberta, I've overheard older men at the local grocery store discussing and spreading misinformation about various topics, including liberals, immigrants, Covid, climate change etc. I wonder how often they access reliable news sources.

Just wondering, would these Christian conservatives be OK with another religion imposing their values on them via puppet politicians making laws to control social behavior (like, wear a burka) rather than letting citizens decide for themselves? Oh yeah, but they like freedom 🙄.

It appears the UCP has made it clear where their loyalties lie – with separatism, rather than with the people of Alberta or Canada.

Unfortunately, this is the usual protocol for UCP, where decisions are made beforehand and consultation is just a facade to maintain appearances.

His point is just as ridiculous as blaming a homeowner for a break-in because they secured the front entrance. It ignores the fact that the intruder chose to break in, and that’s where the fault lies.

Unfortunately if she says it enough there will be people who will want to believe it. The centre needs to reclaim the centre and the fascist right wing nuts need to be push back to the far right. We don’t want the MAGA cult in Canada.
