Event-study plots in DiD are incredibly persuasive—but, honestly, not always honest. Why? If parallel trends or no anticipation fail, DiD estimates are biased. Testing against a zero-effect null then becomes misleading. 🚨New 📄: arxiv.org/abs/2512.06804 #CausalInference #EconSky #StatsSky #rstats

2 Tage Exkursion nach Berlin zur Steuerpolitik (zu BMWE, BMF, BDI, Netzwerk Steuergerechtigkeit). Für mich persönlich eine großartige Erfahrung – offene Gesprächspartner, spannende Einblicke und vor allem richtig engagierte Studierende mit klugen Fragen. So macht Lehre Spaß!

In Deutschland sind 630.000 Stellen unbesetzt – der demografische Wandel wird das noch verschärfen. Trotzdem fehlt eine Debatte über das Renteneintrittsalter im Wahlkampf. Hilft die steuerliche Entlastung von Rentnern? Oder sollten Überstundenzuschläge steuerfrei sein?

Ein paar Gedanken zu Habeck's #Investitionsprämie : Für jede Investition sollen 10% der Investitionskosten als Steuergutschrift gutgeschrieben werden. Das gibt es in anderen Ländern, wo empirische Studien hohe Investitionseffekte gezeigt haben. Also, grundsätzlich wirkt das.
