I've never been more convinced that generative AI is a bubble technology than now.

Omarchy ending up being a right wing operation is probably accurate given who DHH is. If the goal is to bring on the linux desktop it's probably not a good idea to be a rigth wing culture warrior.

I've now seen several major democrat influencers talk like this. Is the DSA (or Mamdani) advocating essentially anything that would even remotely appear to be advocating a return to the Jim Crow south? This hatred of the DSA seems to just be rotting peoples brains.

Centrist democrats spent the last two years being mad at Michigan voters and have decided to throw a senate race out of spite. They’d rather destroy the country to feed their own grievances instead of being the “adults in the room” they claimed to be. Just further proof they hold no principles.

Can we just have all the primaries on the same day instead of this staggered nonsense? Robust primary with multiple debates and then everyone votes for their candidate. This just makes it so we end up with the richest candidate at the end and not necessarily the best one.

Outside of the ChatGPT line none of the other stuff is driving these massive datacenter builds. Between this and the arguement that datacenters actually are driving electric prices down is absurd.

The DNC has been running the they go low we go high playbook for the last decade and we got Trump twice. I think calling him ugly is a great move. Now all they need is a platform that doesn't make me think they are republican light and we might get traction. @symonedsanders.bsky.social

I know @mcuban.bsky.social thinks this is noble but dude is standing next to the guy building immigrant internment camps and threatening to perform a mass killing of iranians. He could have skipped the press conference as it added nothing to saving anyone any money but chose not to for some reason

@booker.senate.gov @corybooker.com is still running the same playbook that democrats have been running since 2016 to no effect. A decade and all evidence to the contrary and we are still thinking there are "better angels" inside the GOP. Just a wild way to approach the midterms.

These pictures are going around social media about mexico and they are so obviously AI that I'm surprised anyone is falling for it. The one with the tree is particularly telling because the sideview mirror indicates that they are on a road that suddently has a tree in the middle of it.

Comparing disparate industries to argue that government is harmful is disingenuous. Television prices vary because quality varies, whereas physicians must meet consistent standards. Lower prices achieved by reducing physician quality would be harmful.

I can't imagine there isn't a lawsuit in the works for this overreach from HHS. They are treating congressional payments like an expense report for a steak on a business trip. In order to do this kind of stuff you'd need to massively expand government to be able to keep up with paperwork.

The essay was awful and deserved a zero and the fact that the school's admin is firing professors and giving As for bad work is reason for the University of Oklahoma to lose accreditation. Just further proof that the talk of "merit" was always about restoring white success through mediocrity.

Manching spent his entire career stonewalling progress while trying to presertve his own dying industry. Sinema was a craven lunatic who became enveloped in enriching herself via special interests. They stood for nothing and made every democrat policy ineffectual. I say good riddence to them.

These two were a pain in the ass, but they tried saving the party from itself.

They helped Biden get a lot done, and because the left didn’t get all they wanted, they want to call them obstructionists.

It was never about legal immigration rather it was they didn't like certain types immigrating. Them going mask off is not surprising given how racist americans have turned out to be.

@mcuban.bsky.social comes out in favor of a visa that will be excludsive to Magnificent Seven This doesn't actually fix any problems with the H1B program but does create more disparities between high capital companies and small to medium businesses while also putting a for sale sign on the country
Mark Cuban on twitter writes

I ACTUALLY LIKE THIS IDEA IF WE SELL THEM TO CORPORATIONS.

The H1b Visa game is ridiculous.

Go to companies and tell them, $5m for any employee making over 500k, and they get immediate citizenship if they pass an advanced background check.

Without citizenship , and only 3 yrs, same background checks, price is $1m.

The whole lottery and caps approach is broken. If the person is that valuable, like many AI engineers are, make it corporate pay to play.

If you ain’t gonna hire American, pay taxpayers for the right.

Who says no ?

How is this guy rich? 1) This would obliterate any small business trying to sell products as they cannot build their own delivery systems. Shipping via private industry (FedEX and UPS) is absurdly expensive. 2) I already pay taxes. This is a service the government should provide 1/2
Dear
@doge
,

The
@USPS
is outdated and a complete waste of time for 90% of Americans.

It's also a total grift by marketers, spammers and e-commerce companies to get American taxpayers to subsidize their businesses. I know, I was a magazine publisher and was SHOCKED at how little they charged us (publications get a sick rate!).

Here's what we do:

1. Drop service down to 1x a week

2. Citizens must opt into getting postal mail by paying $1 a year. 80% of people won't bother since MOST mail is just marketing flyers and garbage that wastes people's time.

3. Take all these notable buildings and turn them into retraining centers for Postal employees and then childcare centers. That's MUCH MORE IMPORTANT for the average citizen.

4. Give every postal employee a soft landing: 12 months severance, then a year at half pay, so they have TWO YEARS to find a new gig and retrain.

100% a total grift and waste of time in the age of Amazon, UPS and Fedex -- and [ checks notes ] email.

This is the kind of thing you say about a 30 or 40 year old who was being a cringe teenager. This is a cringe teenager who has no history of being a different person. Also his life isn't ruined; he can go back to working at one of Elon's companies. Racists have no business in government.

Here’s my view:

I obviously disagree with some of Elez’s posts, but I don’t think stupid social media activity should ruin a kid’s life.

We shouldn’t reward journalists who try to destroy people. Ever.

So I say bring him back.

If he’s a bad dude or a terrible member of the team, fire him for that.

This leopards eating faces moment is because the ENTIRE right not just the far right redefined DEI as unqualified people with jobs. DEI policies (that never had anything to do with hiring unqualified people) have helped white women enter the workforce at a greater rate than any other minority.

@KaeleyT

I have many valid criticisms of DEI policies.

But…

It’s getting to the point where the far right basically assumes that anyone in any position who is not a straight white man is “a DEI hire.”

It’s gross.

Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) gets the ultimate "Leopards ate my face" award. The tariff proposal was a hallmark policy during the 2024 Trump campaign and now all her constituents are going to suffer because of her.
Sen Susan Collins writes

The Maine economy is integrated with Canada, our most important trading partner. Certain tariffs will impose a significant burden on many families, manufacturers, the forest products industry, small businesses, lobstermen, and agricultural producers.

For example, 95 percent of the heating oil used by most Mainers to heat their homes comes from refineries in Canada. The Air National Guard Base in Bangor depends completely on jet fuel and diesel from Canada. From fisheries to potato farmers to paper mills, these tariffs will have a significant impact on Maine’s economy and risk increasing costs for our residents.

I am working with the Trump Administration to help its officials better understand the potential ramifications of certain tariffs on Maine and to find out more about their implementation, scope, duration, and other important information, including any exemptions they may make for northern border states, certain industries, agricultural producers, and others who rely on trade with Canada.

Trump suggesting we now have an official US government propaganda outlet is the most concerning part of this. The rest is just Americans having the memory of a goldfish in regards to the fact that the entire ban was trumps idea.

One of the more annoying things about DOGE and Technocratic types is their utter contempt for the Arts and Humanities. So while they are taking the life out of humanity we have to remember good people out there trying to keep it alive through art.
Twitter post talking about an artist that was being mocked for playing a piece by world renowned artist Tan Dun.

It writes "This is Tan Dun’s Water Concerto. Tan Dun was born in a village in Hunan and learned to play traditional string instruments while he worked as a rice planter during the Cultural Revolution so “rich parents” and “degree in water music” could not be more wrong. Cultural ingrates.

One of the most annoying trends in the "food is expensive" debate is when people go out there and buy designer eggs and apples and complain about pricing. Yes your custom spliced out of season premium apples will be expensive and your free range all organic eggs will be outrageous. 1/2

The right is having the same conversation they would have had regardless; that Biden stole justice from the victims families. The NY Post is running articles talking about the clemencies like Jorge Avila-Torrez who sexually assaulted and stabbed to death Laura Hobbs, 8, and Krystal Tobias, 9. 1/2

Nate Silver is pointing out what always happens; Democrats must follow historical norms, decency and respectability while republicans are allowed to just do "whatever" with zero repercussions from the electorate. Democrats need to stop acting beholden to norms that republicans won't follow.
