Truly an unappreciated gem, first title to bring our iconic Blue bomber into the 3D era.

It’s interesting to see how older RPGs handle multiple quest objectives double dipping each other based on their coding. Say you have two quests requiring you pick up 10 of the same Mcguffin from slimes. Depending on the game, you might need 20 in total, or merely 10 clearing both quest objectives

This whole drama is so unfair to the game devs, artists, motion capture animators, his voice actor… After years of work and passion in their respective crafts, gone over the most severe case of cross cultural “your husbando is trash” syndrome

Still one of the best put together collabs despite the err… questionable creations. Apparently voicing in a subway commercial doesn’t translate very well into baking bread in a kitchen.

Must admire the commitment of our FFXIV community paying tribute to their favorite NPCs in myriad ways. Last Wednesday, I was running reclears of Windhurst with a “Meteor Survivor” on VPR. Every detail glamoured down to the iconic grizzled goatee seen in the trailer

Donkey Kong Country 2, “Haunted Hall” stage. Between the jarring music, a countdown staring you in the face, and a ghastly wraith always on your fuzzy butt… I was desperately aching to go back to the more chill, carnival stage coaster levels.

I was torn between three different essays on Shadow and his recent character development in Sonic x Shadow Generations. They all delve into representations of grief, trauma, and Jungian psychology heavily inspiring the Personna games you might find having “aHA! moments. youtu.be/2IAQaKmZ0Qs?...

Similar argument can also be applied to armor designs for caster vs. healer jobs. Caster was the original design, but for healers they just added brighter pastels, highlights, and LEDs to better fit “pure hearted healer” troupes.

With Alexandria and Arcadion raid storylines both tackling issues with treating and preserving degraded souls, would be interesting to see how you would incorporate these lore elements into Shiun’s head-canon keeping our kindred lizard Kaiju from going nuclear.

Locking PvE content/job progression behind PvP content. Bonus points if the later heavily encourages whaling or is completely unbalanced to begin with. A couple MMOs off the top of my head fall under this category.

Bit of an obscure reference, but Ricardo Gomez from Shadow Hearts 3. Our lovesick mariachi singer has the stereotypical staples of a bard, but brings firepower to battle in the form of his guitar modded with a shotgun, flamethrower, and micro-rocket launcher.
