Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 07/09/2026Yeah, Q episodes tend to have great humor, too. It’s great when they have fun with oh so somber and dignified Picard. ☺️ 110
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 07/09/2026Do you have favorites? I will always remember crying tears of laughter watching “Data’s Day” with my nephew. At least thrice. ☺️ 100
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 05/09/2026FWIW, Steam GUI is amazingly bad on MacOS, too, Proton not even needed. Maybe the latter is why I keep having issues on Steam Deck, though. 000
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 27/08/2026Only one of each, otherwise they might get suspicious. 😉 All the best to you, fingers are crossed. 110
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 26/08/2026Can I just add that those are some awesome boots? Because they are awesome. And I would like to add that. 👌 110
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 21/08/2026Yes. Same is true if you ARE a parent. Get things in order for your children. Also get things in order for your partner while at it. All the best to you. 031
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 20/08/2026There seems to be no problem with music, painting, sculpting, movies, theater, sports, cooking, literature, generally. 010
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 01/08/2026Hm. I've never had anything but a Japanese MD, and have never had a cause to mod it. I thought the region locking was purely physical with the notch on the cartridge (which was easily bypassed by using enough force on the power switch). I'm just using an Analog now, but what have I missed w/o mod? 000
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 30/07/2026Yup. I also remember a few Atari 2600 game manuals (Arcade style games of course) telling you to take a picture of the ending screen and send it in to receive a price. I guess they wouldn’t have done that, if they expected a majority of players finishing their game. ☺️ 010
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 26/07/2026Lost a few as well and am leaving any remote MewTwo lobbies with less than 12 Mega at at least 20 seconds before start. It's just to risky otherwise. 110
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 26/07/2026I was wondering about that a lot. I guess there are people who are just daft, but there are probably more who just do not get to use a charged attack before their Mega is wiped out. If that is you, dear reader: Go to the lobby, heal and revive Mega, rejoin and try again. Please. 110
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 25/07/2026I don’t know anything about this particular monitor, but I have a great different LG ultrawide monitor (40u990a-w and no ads), and if that is a good deal to you, it’s probably still worth looking into despite the current shitstorm. Andcyou’re welcome ☺️ 000
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 25/07/2026Well there is this windowsreport.com/microsoft-ge... And also a probably relevant Windows setting, see screenshot 190
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 19/07/2026It’s simply amazing to have lived through the early home computer era, and still get to feel the magic today through all the layers of abstraction, which are artist miraculous in their own right. Computers can be so great. ☺️ 000
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 19/07/2026I actually enjoyed the proper fail state! I sometimes got confused by the static graphics. When characters enter or leave the scene but the change is not reflected visually. Or when a dog seems to stay angry when he is really distracted. I guess that would maybe be helpful for beginners, too? 110
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 19/07/2026I got 23 points in Wishbringer before falling off a cliff. Literally. ☺️ That was fun and you I can already tell that it's a charming and fairy tale like story. I enjoyed it a lot, even though it seems not quite finished yet, from a technical POV. I'll be sure to return when I have time again. 110

Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 19/07/2026Haha, that shouldn't be so hard, but I love the triple SQL / DQ / Infocom nerdcrossing of streams. ☺️ I will make sure to check your game project out! Going to use dbatools to migrate a cluster estate away from SQL 2016 soon, too. Thanks for that gem, too. 110

Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 01/07/2026Because the Russians would like to attack us tomorrow, and factories unfortunately take years to get built and be operational. Otherwise: Absolutely. 110
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 28/06/2026CRT is quite good at some things, like color and contrast, and sucks at others, like energy consumption and weight. Especially vs. LCD. Having said that, many CRT look(ed) wildly different, so it’s not really clear cut and mainly a matter of personal preference. You are bang on on this. ☺️ 000
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 06/06/2026Real time with pause is just the worst of both worlds to me. You neither enjoy a deep tactical experience nor an action filled spectacle, both experiences diminish each other. YMMV, but if there is an option, I always go turn-based. 020

Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 29/05/2026Just leaving a quick “you told me so”. 😉 It’s indeed great. 😁 110
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 27/05/2026That would have sold me the game, but I was decided since it was announced. Can’t wait to dive in. 100
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 27/05/2026Nothing wrong with that, in itself. There is danger listening to shouty internet men peddling fear, though. Always best to keep calm and check. Take care! ☺️ 100
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 27/05/2026So, whatever you decide to do, it’s probably not urgent. 😉 I’m not sure it is even used for regular keyboards? Like you said, it sounds like the usual predictive text feature, like on phones, but I haven’t looked deeper. 110
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 27/05/2026There is an article about it from 2019, that says it’s a feature from 2018, and the descriptive text is the same. Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 26/05/2026Yes, I think you are right as well. I guess what might have changed is the amount of people, the amount of “new” people that would need to be parented at any given time. It’s that most of us are consumers now, and just a few are creators and the annoying people flock to them. 010
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 26/05/2026And I DO get what you are saying and I wholeheartedly agree in any IRL context. In this space, I'd just like to keep reading my favourite people, that's all. ☺️ 210
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 26/05/2026It was in the olden days (think USENET), too. It's a problem of scale, and it is the problem of creators and influencers (no ofense meant) like Sasha. They will have to deal with and have the energy for stuff like this every day. Until they are fed up and quit. I'd rather they'd block liberally. 000
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 25/05/2026Can I ask why you combined ublock origin and ghostery (I've never heard of it before, it looks great and I'm curious), instead of UO and EFF's Privacy Badger? I use the latter combination because there is almost no functional overlap and the EFF seems pretty trustworthy to me. 120
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 25/05/2026Sure. Blocking is part of that, too, it signals the blocked person that they did something unacceptable. For them this is one transaction, and if they are serious and well meaning, they will get the point without much explanation. If they are new, they just try again with another account. 110
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 25/05/2026Don't let them do this to you. Just block. You either waste your time explaining what would be the proper way to ask, or you feel bad for answering anyway. It's funny because in real life, where people pay to ask my opinion, so I arguably would even owe them, this never happens to me. 110
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 24/05/2026Yes. It’s also not just general learning, it’s learning about your computer, its OS, stuff you will not have to know or care about with MacOS or Windows for example. Stuff that is otherwise just not relevant or interesting to most. They want to drive, not become mechanics, so to speak. 120
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 23/05/2026There are other options. It’s not just Windows and Linux out there. Linux is not a single thing either, but many, many, many moving parts that sometimes get combined in distributions that might share a vision but are wildly different. Like the countries of EU, knowing one is not knowing all. 121
Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 16/05/2026And then there will be the FPGA clones. And to be honest that is great, as the DS form factor makes it cumbersome to emulate. 010

Mirko Schnellbach @schnellbach.de · 13/05/2026Sure. Personally I have no desire to use installer GUIs. PowerShell, SSH, is where I find value and productivity. A TUI I could see myself using on a remote system, to install / update something adhoc. 010
