Eye popping. Court just unsealed Summary Judgment motions in New York Times v OpenAI / Microsoft. Easy to see why the AI companies had so many redactions (pink). Their own people wrote the lede for NYT, the "largest theft of labor in human history"... "more and more substitutive..." /1

It is clearly marked as satire?
In Preparation is a Satirical Publication. In Preparation uses fictitious names in all its content, except in cases where HHMI, journal executives, or that one PI everyone knows it is really about is being satirized. Any resemblance to your actual thesis committee is accidental and deeply unfortunate.

I have set up RStudio snippets for the regex i use (& forget) most, and it saves me a lot of googling. Whenever I google a regex pattern more than 5 times a day, it becomes a snippet..

Come to Florence for a nice session on plant microbiota (P6) with Corné Pieterse @cornepieterse.bsky.social, Sofie Goormachtig @goormachtig.bsky.social and Kathrin Wippel as invited speakers. 10 speakers will be selected upon abstract submission.

The duplicated clusters mentioned display tissue-specific expression, and probably contribute to tissue-specific whithanolide profiles in P. grisea (work by @santyy31.bsky.social) www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

A TNL receptor mediates microbiome feedbacks in Arabidopsis
Plant performance depends on the soil microbiome. While microbiome feedbacks are well documented, the mechanisms by which plants perceive and mediate these feedbacks remain unclear. We established a f...

There is the free github.com/manulera/ope... which integrates with elabFTW for cloning. I have not tested it, but the example looks like it could be useful.

Excited to share my postdoctoral work from Basel! We discovered a “microbiota receptor” in Arabidopsis that optimises plant immunity, the root microbiome composition, eventually leading to enhanced plant growth.
