Rob Schamberger @schambergerart.com · 4hThe Devil's Backbone (2001) A haunted orphanage full of secrets, caught in the middle of the Spanish Civil War. A very powerful Spanish Gothic from Guillermo del Toro that speaks to the true horrors in life. 130

Rob Schamberger @schambergerart.com · 20hDay Two! This was an all-day painting, watercolor on 12” x 16” hot press paper. I took my frustrations from yesterday, learned from them, and made a painting I’m pretty happy with. 1131

Rob Schamberger @schambergerart.com · 03/10/2026#LastFourWatched 1. ACAB 2. Sometimes we all take uncomfortable play for pay gigs. 3. Growing up in 1980’s Kansas City I didn’t anticipate a movie set in Taipei to make me feel nostalgic. But then out of nowhere here comes Frank White and Steve Balboni. 4. Rob Schamberger @schambergerart.com · 03/10/2026GI Joe vol 4 by Joshua Williamson, Andrea Makes Lana and Tom Reilly What I’m enjoying with the Energon line is that every book has Main Character Energy. They’re all happening alongside one another but none feel secondary to another. 020
Rob Schamberger @schambergerart.com · 03/10/2026Here’s the second painting. Didn’t quite come together but I had fun with the colors. Looking forward to tomorrow! 0100
Rob Schamberger @schambergerart.com · 02/10/2026Mazywood by Tananarive Due Gosh, this was fantastic. A family curse as a metaphor for both generational trauma and neurodivergence, classic Hollywood, Black horror, it’s got it all. 240
Rob Schamberger @schambergerart.com · 02/10/2026Here’s my first outing. We had three hours for this location. I wish I’d ruled it out instead of freehanding the columns, but I’m very happy with the overall celebration of light. 2131

Rob Schamberger @schambergerart.com · 01/10/2026Coup de Torchon (1981) I didn’t know this was an adaptation of Pop. 1280, the first Jim Thompson book I ever read was. This resets it in 1930’s French West Africa, which works brilliantly. Also, dig that Sean Phillips cover! 120

Rob Schamberger @schambergerart.com · 28/09/2026Carnival of Souls (1962) A wildly influential movie. Night of the Living Dead, The Shining and David Lynch all have this as their shared DNA. Somehow also a very ahead of its time depiction of life with PTSD. I’d always heard of this but wasn’t prepared for how dangerous it good it is. Wow. 120
