For those of you curious about what is being reported in noted global business publication Forbes about the upcoming Olivia Rodrigo album. It is the fact that she had two albums since 2021 that had four letter word names that were typically capitalised. That is the longstanding tradition she breaks.

it is maddening how we came out of a pandemic which saw loads of governments do direct economic intervention through stimulus cheques, furlough schemes and other things (including the UKs deadly eat out to help out) which kept the global economy afloat and then everyone promptly forgot that it works

For fucks sake it should be legal for Asylum seekers to work in this country especially considering how long it is taken to process claims. Just have a different tax rate for them (say 45% after the tax free allowance) if you're so worried about abuse. (Also it'll help pay for asylum processing)

not sure I like this sort of framing, placing analysis of reform's horse racing form on the front page of the BBC website in a what it tells low information voters who may only see the headline. Also it isn't that useful analysis for the audience to be informed about anyway.

NHS England going isn't necessarily a bad thing (strong case for such significant reform). But Streeting a health secretary who has been loudly anti trans and suggested diet pills for the unemployed is taking his lead from Trump for dismantling independence in the health service scares me

Wes Streeting, the health secretary, told LBC:

I think framing anything as a reset during this Trump presidency is wrong and I think the tough talk shows Carney gets that things aren't going to be like postwar norms during the next 4 years regardless of actions so it is best to just get on with things rather than trying to reset.
