Thanks for that. Just like ultraprocessed food companies sell garbage as food, advertising is rotting our brains - and our morality and conscience. “White” and “racist” are conjoined by design. It’s a life’s work to break that link. So nobody stopped that ad. Reposting it just normalizes it.

Converse are the very best shoes for a significant portion of what I do for work. My new pair is still in great shape. Need to find another option, because those things aren’t going on my feet anywhere in public. (I don’t do Nike either - I have friends who are ex-employees there. Bad news.)

I am a gringa who drove from Portland to SF one day in 1988 because a friend dropped by and said he was craving pupusas we’d had there several months earlier. Neither of us had plans, another person wanted to pick up my work hours, so off we went. Good local sources now though. So good.

Oh, Oregon is still fighting and planning to win. AG Rayburn does not play. Nor does AG Bonta. They have no plans to change anything, although more ballot drop sites may happen. The feds don’t have Oregon’s voter rolls, and have no way of identifying registered voters.

There’s likely a whole generation of us who followed the Artemis II mission in detail but couldn’t manage to watch the launch. I did watch reentry, and cried through it all. I was in college when Challenger happened and can walk to the precise spot I was in when I heard the news. Trauma sticks.

I am a futbol (soccer) fanatic, and yet would give it up entirely if my only viewing choice involved Alexi Lalas. I can stumble around in Spanish, and have been Telemundo all the way for years. The other channel is not just less desirable - it’s a complete no fly zone.
