I'm on a bit of a hiatus at the moment, but had to fulfil a request for my sister-in-law to make her a golden tree. Unfortunately the images don't show it, but when the light catches the tree it glitters with tiny golden flecks. Quite proud of this one! #terrain #dnd #handmade #foliage

Another use for the modular RUB trays is storing your minis! All the way down to epic scale, as demonstrated by ROK Minis. It’s so neatly organised 🤩

I was running out of space to store my mini paints on my shelves (too much scenery materials - if that's even a thing!). Decided to offload them into some of my trays for Really Useful Boxes. They're great for storing minis too. 4 different depths available on my website now!

In an attempt to modularise my house builds, I started creating interchangeable parts, instead of designing bespoke parts each time. Even though this version of my prototype (v1) is now obsolete, I decided to finish building it instead of wasting materials. #terrain

I didn't go as far as I'd planned with this (scratches, rust etc.), but I'm close to calling this one done. Just a few more small details/fixes to do. #terrain #scifi #warhammercommunity

Sponging was a bit hit-and-miss, so decided to just messily slap a base colour on. Having the black/white contrast underneath really helps the grungy look! I'll be adding 2 other base colours I think, before focusing on more grunge & rust/scratch detail #terrain #nerdlings #warhammercommunity

Sci-fi noir 😅 I didn't really want to do big blocky colours on this, so I'm going to be applying a range of colours with sponges across the whole thing before adding scratches, chips, rust etc. #terrain #necromunda #scifi #warhammercummunity

I think I'm going to call these done (save for a little tidy up work on the edge of the base). I was going to do some edge highlighting, but my hands are not steady enough for the consistency needed, so tabletop ready will have to do! #nerdlings #warhammercommunity #warhammerAoS

In an attempt to keep my hobby time varied and interesting, today's lunch break saw the start of some slap-chopped Rat Ogors. It's been a really long time since I actually painted a mini, so this is quite refreshing for me! #nerdlings #warhammercommunity #warhammerAoS

Got a little bit snippy during my lunch break 😂 I managed to improve on the top part of the trunk where it connects to the branches too. I'm going to do a couple of brown washes to the trunk to give some depth, but definitely happy with this look so far! #terrain

Managed to get a little more done to the inside of the Inn keepers room. They have a large fireplace for cooking 'tasty' gruel and hearty broth for their patrons. Working out how to keep the roof easily removable was an interesting challenge #terrain

Well, I made the decision to retrofit a chimney (as I'd forgotten to include one!). Which means I need to do a little remodelling on the upper floors now, but I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run 🤨 I'll do another on the other side for cooking the customers gruel 😂 #terrain

Trying to decide one what roof tiles to use for the inn. I'm leaning towards trying the Dragon Scale or Diamond ones, with maybe row of Straight ones at the roof edge. What do you all think? #terrain

Work continues on the next floor down... same as the upper levels, but with some wood panelling on the lower half of the walls in the hallways. I feel like I cheated a little by lasering all the things, but I wanted to ensure the wood panels were all a consistent height. #terrain

I'm finally back to working on the Inn again. Managed to get most of the roof done & started on the interior. I cut some cardboard wall inserts to paint & then slot in to save time. I'll scrunch the cardboard up a bit before painting to add some 'cracks' in the walls. #terrain

A little progress on the inn. I have managed to get the top floors cut in and have made a start on the roof. I could have just used cardboard & tiles, but I wanted to try and keep it looking as immersive as I could. It's pretty tall on top of the sewer base! #tabletopterrain #terrain

I think I've finished adding all the balsa wood. Just some thinner supports to add for the porch and jettied section, with 3mm basswood. I'm looking forward to to getting some bricks on this thing, but I'm hoping I don't have to cut out much of the balsa wood to fit the chimney in! #terrain

Slowly working my way up the building with the balsa wood. I have lots more beams, cross-braces, supports and trims to put in yet, as well as the whole front porch (and one entire wall I somehow missed 😅). Dry-fitted the windows to get a feel for how it's going to look. #tabletopterrain #terrain

A top down view of the separate floors of the inn. Room for some small improvements, but generally happy with it. I may have to change the name from 'The Drunken Duck' to 'The Piebald Pony', to match it's clientele, as it will also feature a wine cellar underneath. #tabletopterrain #terrain

From flat file, to 3D, to reality... it's a beast! A couple of small adjustments needed to make it an easier fit in some places, but it's mostly there I think. Now to start adding to it with XPS, balsa, stir sticks etc. #tabletopterrain #terrain

I think I might have over-engineered the Drunken Duck Inn 😅 Initially designed flat, using xTool Creative Space and then imported into Tinkercad to ensure it all fits together as expected. This is the D&D version. Hoping to do a ruined version for Mordheim/Frostgrave. #terrain #lasercutting

Finished the cobbling on the 2nd tile and I'm super happy with how they look together! I think I'll be going back to the sewer/flat/church modular tiles next, where I'll need to work out how to allow for stairs down into basements and ladders down into sewers. #tabletopterrain #terrain #mordheim
