I am the plottiest plotter to ever plot. So before I can start writing, I actually have pre production steps that need to be done such as settings and character bios. Because fortunately and unfortunately I can't write what I can't "see" #WeeknightWriters #FirstDraftFall

I definitely admire writers who can write fast. Like over 5k a day kind of fast. That's wild to me ##LitHodgePodge

My current WIP is definitely a standalone. Might be on the longer side, but this RH is a standalone. #WeeknightWriters #FirstDraftFall

So funny story. For Anything You Want, the silver fox surgeon was inspired by Dr. Mark Sloane aka McSteamy from Grey's Anatomy and the cinnamon roll roommate was inspired by Dr. Spencer Reid from Criminal Minds. Since it's set in Manhattan, being stuck in Friends would be interesting #LitHodgePodge

Hey my dudes! I'm Scarlett Chase, an indie Romance author who writes graphic on page spice with stories that have BIPOC FMCs, swoonworthy MMCs, and humor. Didn't understand the lush one and I don't like coffee or tea so I filled in the rest #LitHodgePodge

I have an upcoming one that is currently untitled. But it's the FMC with 4 MMCs that all happen to be friends. She signs up for a 1 night stand, but all of them don't realize this is the start of their story #WeeknightWriters #FirstDraftFall

A pitch for my last release Anything You Want: A young woman has watched 1 too many Friends episodes, so she decides to get a roommate only to be immediately attracted to the best candidate who comes with a friend #WeeknightWriters #FirstDraftFall

This is an RH RomCom. It's also technically Contemporary Romance #WeeknightWriters #FirstDraftFall

I'm currently working on an RH that was inspired by a reader asking for a rec in an RH group. The novella version won't have MM, but the full length will. This is also the first project I asked readers for help in the pre production & it was fun #WeeknightWriters #FirstDraftFall

Hey everyone. I'm Scarlett Chase, an indie Romance author. The pre production for my WIP is done and I'm a little over 6k words in. But I'm moving at the beginning of November so writing is on hold while packing has begun. #WeeknightWriters #FirstDraftFall

🤔 hhmm. The sequel to Anything You Want titled Everything You Need might end with Blow by Ed Sheeran, Chris Stapleton, and Bruno Mars #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #WriterSky #SwitchItUpDuet

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

It's uplifting in the sense that it makes you want to get up and dance. Which is how I used it in Anything You Want. The FMC and her sister recognize their song and go dance at a Christmas party. Turn the Night Up by Enrique Iglesias is a banger #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #WriterSky

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Looking back at a tertiary character that has appearances in my standalone debut & a book in my duet, Celebrate by Pitbull could be his theme song. He's very much a the life of the party type of guy #SongsofSeptember #WriterSky #Romancebooks

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

There's an instrumental version of Besame Mucho with a Spanish guitar which fits Anything You Want as a whole book even though I only used it in my playlist for a specific scene. It's sensual, hot, and slow. #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #WriterSky #AnythingYouWant

050

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Well my WIP is set on the California coast, so beachside sounds definitely play a part of the story. Especially since the MMCs live right on the beach. Makes for a relaxing soundtrack made by nature #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #WriterSky #CurrentWIP

080

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

In my current WIP, one of the MMCs is a musician so yes! So far I know that he can play the violin, electric guitar, and drums #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #WriterSky #CurrentWIP

050

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

😂 1st thing I thought of as a Romance author was sex scenes. Anyway, the climax in Anything You Want has the Four Seasons violin concerto in F minor Winter I Allegro non molto by Antonio Vivaldi & it's not a spicy scene #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #WriterSky

050

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

For Anything You Want, the opening credits theme to an early Call of Duty game because that's what 1 MMC and the FMC play together when they become friends. It fits her relationship with a secondary character too since they remain friends #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #WriterSky

041

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

🤔 idk if this counts. In Anything You Want, the FMC & her cinnamon roll MMC love watching The Wedding Crashers together. When they go to a wedding together, she asks the DJ to play Shout by The Isley Brothers, then they dance to it #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #WriterSky

040

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

No side character has a theme song or some such in the book's playlist. But in Anything You Want the FMC & her twin hear one of their favorite songs come on: Turn the Night Up by Enrique Iglesias #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #WriterSky

060

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

I thought so hard I forgot to post yesterday 😂😂☠️ Since my WIP has 1 song in its playlist so far I'll refer to my last release, Anything You Want. Back in the Saddle by Aerosmith #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #WriterSky

040

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

Depends on how focused I can be, mood, & where I'm at in the manuscript. Some days it has to be quiet; other times I love having ambience videos on. Classical music is my first go to when I put music on. Very rarely do I put lyrical music on but if I do it's on the book's playlist #SongsofSeptember

070

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

There aren't antagonists in either of my books published or my WIP. However in my debut Between Pages and Sheets, the FMC is wary of relationships/men after her last relationship ended badly. She would totally sing I Won't Say (I'm in Love) from the Hercules soundtrack #SongsofSeptember #WriterSky

071

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

So one of my favorite bands has a song in their first album that just struck the "vivid daydream" button in my brain & saw a sad scene play out for an idea I have. Once I write that book, Clockwork by Palaye Royale will be in the playlist for that scene #SongsofSeptember #WriterSky

061

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

This actually comes from the sequel to Anything You Want. The last MMC is introduced & so does his 2nd chance romance with the FMC. The first song in the playlist definitely fits this. Don't You Remember by Adele is their theme song at the beginning of the book #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks

020

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

For the sequel to Anything You Want, I didn't have many songs when I started writing. So I added Closer by Nine Inch Nails for the vibes and it ended up fitting perfectly in 1 of the scenes that I eventually wrote so it stayed on that book's playlist ##SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #WriterSky

031

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

I would have either Austin Giorgio or Steven Rodriguez make a couple of songs (or more if they wanted to do more) for my current WIP. Their sound and vibes are perfect for this story. #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #CurrentWIP #WriterSky

040

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

The whole book gets a playlist. A character's theme song or a couple's theme song is in there, but to know which ones readers really curious can subscribe to my newsletter. Subscribers get bonus features content and this info will be part of that #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks #WriterSky

050

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

Yes! The sequel to Anything You Want (stuck in post production currently but it's already written) has Don't You Remember by Adele at the very beginning. It fit almost perfectly and is the first song in that book's playlist #SongsofSeptember #RH #SwitchItUpDuet #Romancebooks #WriterSky

050

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

I'll talk about my debut Between Pages and Sheets for this one. One of the songs that was a theme for Sofia and Leo is Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers. The yearning and love in that song fits Leo's side of the story so well. #SongsofSeptember #MFRomance #Romancebooks #WriterSky

031

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

Since I'm not sure which playlist I'll just go with my "I'm Unstoppable" playlist that I made to help me get pumped for the day or before a writing session. The last song I added is Invincible by Pat Benatar #SongsofSeptember #WriterSky #Romancebooks

030

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

The FMC in my current WIP doesn't have one yet I'll share the song for 2 main characters in my kinky RH RomCom Anything You Want. The FMC & her cinnamon roll MMC have a theme for their relationship since she helps him explore kinky fun: Do It For Me by Rosenfeld #SongsofSeptember #RH #Romancebooks

050

Scarlett Chase-Author of Spice @scarlettchase.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

Music is a very important part of my writing process & I make a playlist for every story that I share in the front matter. Each story has at least 1 central theme song. For my WIP that theme song is Body by Rosenfeld. #SongsofSeptember #Romancebooks #RH #CurrentWIP #WriterSky

Just found this so I'm jumping in! 👋🏽 I'm an indie Romance author with 2 books out so far & my WIP is an RH with 1 FMC, 4 MMCs. Don't have just 1 favorite song but my anthem right now is Good Girls by Elle King & it's not on my WIP's playlist because it doesn't fit the story #SongsofSeptember

Yesterday was my birthday & I started my . 😂🤦🏽‍♀️ What's next after my RH WIP? No clue. I go when the wind blows me. I would grow my own harem of book boyfriends 😂😂 just all of them. If I don't want to bang and be with them, then why would my readers? They need to become as feral as I do over them; it's the only way you know you've done your job and wrote great MMCs #SumLuv #Writersky #RH #CurrentWIP #Romancebooks

No. There are 4 MMCs and 1 FMC and they all fall at different times. 1 of the MMCs is immediately head over heels and quite determined to persuade her to stick around the same day they meet. #SumLuv #WriterSky #Romancebooks #RH #CurrentWIP

Quote from book 1 of the Switch It Up Duet titled Anything You Want by Scarlett Chase. The quote: "You need to go out there and have some fun, meaningless sex with a hot stranger so you can get what I like to call post-nut clarity."

Oh definitely. 1 MMC is a musician so he could play music with one and we'd all have a sing along easy. Another MMC is a personal trainer which 1 of my besties is too so they could swap client stories. It would be a fun time. #SumLuv #CurrentWIP #Romancebooks #WriterSky #RH

I'll reference my previous duet since I don't have many words for my WIP. I was surprised with the addition of the silver fox pleasure Dom. Originally the duet was supposed to be MFM, but the cinnamon roll's friend wanted in. 1st time that's happened to me & he was very persuasive 😂 #SumLuv #RH
