Let's go in the garden — You'll find something waiting .. Right there where you left it , lying upside down 𓈒 When you finally find it , you'll see how it's faded ..

the heirloom, and Mariko couldn't help but smile at the idea that she was robbing her late father of something he would have desperately wanted. She could use the haori, for sure. "Thank you," her face seems to brighten with this realization. "You've given me more than you could realize."

there's another part of her that can't help but be amused. Her father had tormented her and her sister for years, killed their mother. He had always shown such pride towards the family name, and yet, he couldn't hold this priceless heirloom now. No, his eldest daughter would be the one to be given-

Mariko is careful as she is shown the garment, still a little untrusting towards Victoria. Yet, she's almost...touched by the gesture offered. She doesn't have the heart to tell the woman how much she despises her fathers name, so, she simply takes the offered item and glances it over. But...

4. Mariko is a low level mutant, with her abilities being durability. It's hard to get in a good hit on her, especially with guns and sharp objects. Honestly? She had just always assumed she was lucky until the X-Men revealed her mutant origins to her.

3. Typically? Mariko is a very calm and collected person, not quick to anger. The muramasa blade, however, has changed that. She seems a lot quicker to show her temper at the moment.

shadowed by weird misogyny/xenophobia. There's a whole storyline where her brother drugs Logan and forces him to fight him for Mariko, weird shit like that. The 2013 movie is probably the LEAST offensive portrayal of the Yashida family.

|| man, I only even really know about Mariko because of my irl best friend who loves the old man Logan run and told me about her. || someone had to! I just got angrier the more I looked into Mariko, cause she's just a tale of weird 70's racism/misogyny causing so many missed opportunities. The muramasa blades could be utilized so much more if the Yashida family weren't so ignored, and they're cool ass weapons.
