My kids teacher is, you know, in contact with them and under their full adult supervision all day, so maybe not very similar at all. Also depending on the specifics, yeah. It would be ok. I also differentiate SA from pedophilia, imagine that.

But whatever, I'm just a rape apologist loving rape, living my rape life. Definitely not someone who can just have a differing opinion on how a person should be treated when they've done something wrong.

You are right to bring up the Cornell case exactly because it is IN CONTRAST to this case. They're wildly different. People want to put them in the same bucket, that's just insanity. Two things can be true: it was really bad, and it isn't anything like the Cornell case.

Nothing public, but why? Maybe he can't be successful trying to be public, but I see no principal for why he shouldn't. Because in my view he shows every sign that he is not the same person, has grown, it is not a pattern.

Oh fuck off. It's not transparent about anything, you haven't learned some deep truth. If you can read, that comment is about what a person should be allowed to do with their life after a crime, and if the answer is nothing then what does that mean. Some say just not something public.

Ooh an internet threat, fuck you. You're such a fucking moron you don't even know what SA means, you think it's muddying the waters to know what it means.

We have only heard from one person involved and that's likely all we'll get. The rest is rumor.

Nobody is doubting that it was SA. I'm saying you don't know what happened you fucking moron.

The irony is that this meme is the perfect response to almost every top level post on this thread. All variants of "ok I'm leaving".

You don't know what happened, that is a fact, and you are demonstrably a liar by claiming otherwise.

I'll say out loud you don't know what happened and should mind your own business.

There is no testimony you shit stirring troll. There is a half remembered claim from a third party who wasn't there who couched it in "or something" and then changed their story later before completely locking their account. You don't know WTF happened, you're making stuff up.

No reason he shouldn't. You're just saying that because it's the job he already has and you want him fired.

Fuck OFF. He had a job where he interacts with people like almost every other job, you are arbitrarily trying to invent new rules to justify your preconceived idea that he is irredeemable forever and should just curl up and die. You make me sick you shit stirring maggot.

He already did the "rehabilitation". That's the fundamental disconnect here. You and your ilk want to dredge this up and make him do it again, with no indication that he wouldn't have to do it again with every person he meets. Why do you get to decide it's time to restart things?

scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 03/10/2026
Yes 100% people need to grow up about it. It is so clearly a thing that is unfortunately common. We need to learn as a society how to discourage it and also allow people the chance for rehabilitation. People here are acting like we can expect perfection out of everyone like children.

scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Nobody but you said anything about forcing people to work with him. Everyone can do what they want. But there is no such thing as rehabilitation if this is what happens. There is no reason for anyone to even try to be a better person or acknowledge what they've done.

You have it, it's literally in the screenshots of the title IX investigation. If there weren't levels of severity they wouldn't need the column that shows different punishments.

Just say you don't believe in rehabilitation. At least be honest about it.

It didn't lose his audience trust, his patreon is still very strong, we have no idea if it lost any significant audience trust. We just have a mob reaction and a scared company firing him for damage control.

scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Yes there is something standing in the way! As far as anyone of us knows he is fully rehabilitated, there is no sign (unless there is and that's going to come out) of any danger to anyone else. And yet here we are. Nothing will satisfy you.

scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
You can spin it as something else, but if you think someone should no longer be able to do the work that they do, that is a punishment. It's not for protecting anyone, it's not rehabilitation. If they go do other work you would need to protect whoever they work with too, leading to more firing.

scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
If you are against the idea of punishing people for crimes in the carceral sense, but just redefining other punishment as something else, I don't know what your point is. What do you think should happen in cases of assault?
100 0
scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
No, this is incorrect. The word punishment applies even outside legal frameworks, this doesn't need explaining. I'm not framing anything like anyone needs punishment. I don't know what we SHOULD do in these cases, but punishment did happen, 10 years ago and it IS happening now.

In no way am I equating personal prestige loss with violence, that is a gross misunderstanding or misrepresentation.

Sorry, it's been beaten to death. I think being paid for work is employment, you think it requires some legal documents saying it is. Philosophical disagreement.

No you are arguing that people are static unchanging atomatons, and one bad act means their immortal soul is stained for life and beyond.
000 0
scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
This isn't meaningless. We live in a world where people have done bad things. It's an important question, should we allow for rehabilitation or not? Rehabilitation means substantial, not )we won't technically put you in prison but you'll never work again in your field."

scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Obviously not everyone would be ok, but I believe most people, given an actual chance, could have some understanding and be ok working with someone who has done something bad but has grown and appears to show no signs this is a pattern.

Is Nebula a cooperative? If they all voted, that's different. But either way, the reaction they had is not in a vacuum separate from the mob. It is PR. They're afraid of the mob.
100 0
scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Yes it's meaningless because any negative thing that happens to a person affects them for the rest of their life. It doesn't say anything.
100 0
scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Based on how many people are victims of it in some form, there is a huge range of reactions and severity. Not everyone who has been groped got addicted to drugs, so I guess you'd have to understand the specifics of the situation, which you do not.

scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
A contract isn't a prerequisite to call something employment. It's obvious to anyone this is an employment situation, unless you're motivated to justify something else.

scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Yes I do think that. People in his personal life seem to have been able to live with him as a normal ass person, I think if not for the mob, we all could. If someone did something horrible in the past, but show remorse and no signs of a pattern, people can forgive. The Internet mob ruins that.

Ok, calling someone a derogatory name if you can't wrap your head around it. Saying something "affects a person for the rest of their life" is 100% meaningless.
200 0
scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Hmm? You mean all the threads dogpiling on here? Doing the usual mindless mob thing?
100 0
scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
No, not really. You just want to assert that there is so you can justify doing the "I'm telling your boss" thing that I'm sure you would usually be against.

scarf-joint.bsky.social @scarf-joint.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
People who get paid well still are doing a job. He had a boss and his boss fired him. Sounds like employment.

Almost every job in the US is at will. There is no contract, you are working and getting paid, that's what a job is.

That's public facing you goober! Wouldn't his co workers be unsafe, and what about all the women he would have to talk to without announcing his past crimes! Shouldn't people tell his boss to fire him about that?

Waving at a person affects them the rest of their life. The question is how much, and what to do about it. You seem to lean towards punishment forever despite vehemently claiming that's not what you're doing. I think people deserve the possibility of rehabilitation.
