Happy October! October arrives carrying the crispness of change in the air. The leaves fall in moments, each one a piece of the year drifting away making space for reflection & new things to come. We move forward with gratitude. 🍁

I lost someone. Not to death, not yet. They were dear to me. I knew their favorite food. their favorite song. I knew what made them happy. I knew what made them sad. Most of all, I knew when they lost their spark. Oh, and that person I lost? Myself. I lost myself. —azrael, on Tumblr #poetry

Drifting in a timeless space, bare feet and a dress of silk trimmed with lace. A spirit floats through a muted hue and sprawling maze where only silent wild things grace, fading into a golden haze. #poetry

Their oilskins gone, the log book spread, The lantern burned, but they were gone. No footprints left. Did the cold Atlantic claim its own? #poetry #spookypoetry #truestory #scotland Info in ALT or research online.
In December 1900, three lighthouse keepers stationed on Eilean Mòr in the Flannan Isles vanished without a trace. Before their disappearance, the lighthouse log described severe winds and unusual distress. One entry noted that a keeper had been crying. The entries gave a foreboding feeling that something bad was about to happen. Some records feel unsettling because they end exactly where the mystery begins When a relief vessel finally arrived, the lighthouse was operating. The men were gone never to be found.

Sickness spread through her lungs. A haze, nothing viable in thought. In recovery thoughts reverted to past sadness. Being sick had been an unexpected #reprieve. Depression like a dark cloud hovering. Rain fell from her eyes. Holding onto hope, she always survives. #poetry

The smell of fall filled the air. The wind gently stroking the leaves telling them it’s time to go. The clouds at dusk thin, smudged, and sparse. The scent of change is everywhere. If I could choose the weather it would be autumn forever. #poetry #autumn

Early morning in the quiet hours the moon sets low in my front sky casting a final, soft glow over my sleeping world, while a canopy of stars remain in the dark of my back sky. The world stands still between the end of night & start of day. I am here with my coffee to see it all. #poem
