Public executions on tv and in the street is meant to stop a rebellion before it can even start. American techno-fascism has reached its final form. Billionaires and christian nationalist politicians no longer have any consent of the governed. So they will govern solely through force

I love Godzilla 2000! When I heard "Let's get ready to crumble!" on the US ads I knew it was going to be fun. And I believe this is the first time a Godzilla film suit was green, rather than grey or charcoal. Correct me if I'm wrong but I have this argument all the time: "Godzilla's not green!"

I doubt I'm the only older American woman who has had very similar conversations with her therapist about this...our internalized misogyny was(/is) a mighty powerful tool for repression. It's really hard to look back at what was considered "normal" for the time.

Love these photos of a gansey sweater over at Highland Threads. Such great knitting. A gansey is a type of fisherman sweater with identical front and back sides. Last photo shows one from Flamborough Marine, my favorite contemporary maker for this style. highlandthreads.co.uk/wick-museum

Yes, you're reading that correctly; Danny Trejo is starring in a pro-ICE film called "Pawn Shop." Despite protests and backlash over production in Livingston, Montana, filming is moving forward after city officials suspended and later reinstated its permits.

That 10/30 episode looks terrific - I love The Host, Big Man Japan is quite odd, and I consider Cloverfield to be a claustrophobic descent into hell that also happens to have a cool monster. Of course 11/13 also looks great, who doesn't want to talk about Minus Zero?

I seriously believe it was done on purpose as a distraction from WHY Hack Smith was there in the first place. Smith said he has evidence beyond a reasonable doubt Trump and his cronies broke several laws leading up to 1/6/21. But what is everybody talking about 2 days later?? Looks like they won 🤷‍♂️

Amazing that even the news outlets are focused on this instead of Smith’s assertion that he has credible evidence that President Trump is responsible for Jan six. The GOP knows how to play us like violins

Here she is on her 20th birthday, she loved buttery croissants (who doesn't?) and we let her eat a large piece for her birthday. The last few months were clearly hospice but we cried as we had to say goodbye to her.

A fluffy white cat atop a black leather coach attempts to grab a piece of croissant served to her atop a cute cat plate, with one lit candle next to the food. Her pet stroller, used when we did multiple walks in the park, sits next to the couch.

Here's a second vote for Solensia. My cat Dia was about 17 when we began administering the monthly Solensia shots, and after a month, she was able to return to her ability to jump up on surfaces. This hero cat was with us for nearly 21 years and we lost her on 1/13/2026. (I'm crying as I type this.)

So it's not just me, then? My cucumbers in outdoor planters have done miserably this year, much worse than earlier years. We've had a lot of cool, very dry weather this summer here in the Pacific Northwest (47th parallel) and only 2 of my tomatoes have started turning reddish!

Imma steal that: "I appreciate having actual medical documentation that I do not, in fact, have a stick up my ass." Awesome! I completely HATE colonoscopies and have luckily started the less expensive and traumatic stool-test tests, but yeah, once the procedure starts, you're golden. So to speak.

I love this film because it has so many crazy but entertaining elements to it, such as the Dorats, Robert Scott Field's android racing after the hero's vehicle, the Japanese soldiers saluting a dinosaur that saved them from the US soldiers, etc. It's stupid but has a lot of stuff packed into it.

010

Shmarky Bringpat @sbringpat.bsky.social · 16/07/2026

Well, if you consider an amazing amount of CUTENESS a weakness, then you're wrong! Those Dorats are DARLING! Just goes to prove that almost everything is cute while still a pup (see Kindchenschema etc.)
