First win with the new character. I'm really enjoying their mechanics so far. I always like an item with quests on it so I was pretty excited about the bus, but I have yet to have a run where I get more than one of the visits done. I want to use it, though!

I was a little worried when I came up against an Eye of the Colossus, but his build was just kind of tottering and clumsy and the one thing it couldn't destroy was the big fire I started on his head.

And in the end, Inventors goes to me along with two of the objectives, making the final saga score 13 goals for me and 8 for Amabel. Moonsaga is interesting and does definitely introduce some weird decision pressures. It's probably least compelling at two players; I'd very much like to see it at 4.

At the end of round 2 (of 3) things are looking pretty bad for Amabel. Once again she claimed the first objective, but it didn't finish either of her trinket sets, and I was able to narrowly steal the second objective and the pocketwatches with it. I think she'd need a major victory to win the saga.

Inventors is the shaggiest South Tigris game but I think it has become my favorite. There's/ so much to do and so many ways to approach things. The whimsy of the inventions helps too. Amabel is not confident with this one, and the #1 thing she cannot let me do is take a major victory (15+ pt gap).

Today is a good day for MOONSAGA Going into Inventors, I have seven goals to Amabel's six. There's eight points available in this game (three objectives + three from winning the game + two trinket collections); the saga is still very winnable for Amabel, but she probably has to win this game.

Unfortunately, the third and fourth caliphs followed very quickly. There were still five scrolls left in the pile! This is definitely not a good pace for me.

The situation right after the second caliph card is a little nerve-wracking. She grabbed the first goal (7 influence in one house) VERY quickly, but I was able to cut off access to the second (at least one advancement on each knowledge track).

And so it continues. I think Scholars is the most elegant of the three games, and its expansion integrates with it the most cleanly. I think Amabel has a slight lead coming into this; we're tied on goals, but she's got the better set of saga powers.

A major Wayfarers victory but bad play on the objectives from me means we end the first game 3-3 (hers on top, mine on bottom).

The score so far in our Moonsaga campaign: Three goal cards for Amabel, and three goal cards for me. We both take two advantages into the next game.
