#MediaInterviews DYK the best way to improve at doing #media interviews is to review your own clips? 1. Prepare your messages 2. Practice 3. Perform based on your media training 4. Playback the clip and check for tone, posture, & delivery 5. Polish your performance for the next one!

Is anyone else inching their way to the end of 2024, and falling over the finish line? Asking for a friend.

We don’t need to move mountains daily - we just need to keep moving forward.

I just want to say that decorating the Christmas tree was a lot more fun when the kids were little and could bend down to hang the decorations on the lower branches. Just saying…

The holidays are coming up fast. Start thinking about who is going to be where, and how to manage comms support for your org in case of a #crisis or #emergency. ⭐️Get your team together and know how to contact back ups. ⭐️Establish a process to connect virtually. ⭐️Be #prepared to #respond.

Yesterday, I was invited to deliver a "fast and focused" session to a group that supports social well-being in their community. I introduced message maps to create empathetic and focused messaging and the need to understand the rule of "three." Are you using Message Maps in your organization?

During the delivery of a #Crisis and Emergency Comms workshop today, I discussed the concept of a Community Outreach Info Network - COIN to help with message dissemination. The group did amazing work #preparing these! Your message will never reach everyone - but, a COIN will help! #CrisisComms

When #disasters strike communities and they begin #re-building there is often a gap with tax revenues due to residential and biz losses. #Jasper is now grappling to meet budget needs with less funds - when they need the $$$ to do more. Could this be considered a cascading impact?

I don't know who needs to hear this, but, having a Trusted Travellers card to navigate airport security in 🇨🇦 is worth it. Heading to #Ontario to deliver #CrisisComms workshops this week. How #prepared is your organization?

I am not sure what we did before #Canva? I can’t draw a straight line with a ruler. And, I was often without graphic arts support in my #comms jobs but now, even I can make a PESTLE analysis appear somewhat professional. Do you use it?

Today is “#Rock your Mocs Day.” Mine were made by Jorja Mulder of Fort Resolution, NT- who now resides in Fort Smith, NT. I have linked to her page in the comments below. I love them! ❤️ #IndigenousArtists #LandOfTheMidnightSun

I may be crunching a deadline for a report and procrastinating, but, it’s kind of fun connecting with new people and finding old friends on this platform! 😁

Oban had a little medical issue yesterday, and has been underperforming in his office assistant role today. The vet tech said, “he acted like we were amputating his leg instead of just clipping back his nail! “ Regardless, treats and naps for this little guy. 🐾

I was chatting with a friend this morning who is heading to the #TaylorSwift concert in #Toronto. A few prep tips: - Ensure cell is fully charged - Apple tag your kids! - Identify two exit routes at the venue - Pre-determine a meeting if you get separated - Take cash #Swifties
