ICYMI: I launched a "Top Trumps" style game, SBC Showdown. Guess which board is better in which category, learn a little, and blast past my streak of 13 correct answers.. sbc.compare/showdown

Many of you asked for Luckfox on the site, and the Aura is 1st of 4 that will be available in the near future. sbc.compare/126-luckfox-... It's also the 1st with the RV1126B SoC. Rolls off the tongue, that..

Geekbench 7 has been out for a little while now, and I'm still slowly trying to backfill data, but bear with me! We have some ARM, RISC-V, and amd64 results in already, and every (new/existing) board with >4GB RAM will be tested eventually. Any other tests of interest? I'm all ears!

The Orange Pi 6 (16GB) data is here! Same CIX P1 SoC as the 6+, 1,343/6,743 on GB6, and 135 GFLOPS in Linpack. That's within shouting distance of the 32GB 6+… at $359 instead of $669. sbc.compare/136-orange-p...

It's kind of crazy to think that there are now 117 SBCs with results up on the website. That's over 2,500 benchmark results, and far too many hours 🥹 Still working through a backlog, still sourcing new boards, still crazy enough to enjoy it, and still open to feedback and feature reqs!

The Hardkernel ODROID C1 is finally up, after spending far too long arguing with it about whether it wanted to boot. Amlogic S805, 4x Cortex-A5, 1GB. This is 2014/15 Pi-competitor energy. Useful as a reference point more than a recommendation. sbc.compare/139-hardkern...

At the time of testing, 4 of the top 5 "best value" SBCs during my testing were from @RadxaComputer. I need to look into proper price tracking, but times are tough..

Cooler data for the Orange Pi 6 is now available at sbc.compare/coolers/oran... and includes both the #SBC with its stock cooler/fan combo, and then in the official case so you can see how much it impacts things 🫡

Fun updates in the near future, but here's some behind the scenes insight. Full temp/frequency monitoring on the CPU, with tests that throttled having their results invalidated and marked for re-testing automatically 🫡 I'm trying out here to make all of the data trustworthy. Well, as much as I can!

Not a particularly interesting update, but I don't have much else right now 😅 I've been working on better power monitoring throughout every test, and then stress testing the PoE splitters, HATs, and ports on switches I have to see what's doable when everything goes back on the shelves!

Fun to see more CXMT RAM showing up on boards. It’s also the 1st to be tested with the RV1126B SoC.. 4 Luckfox boards have arrived for testing, and the Aura is up first!

The Cool-Pi 4B with its RK3588S SoC felt like it came out of nowhere, and we never heard from them again. It was meant to bring more power to the Pi layout, but all it does now is sit and pull 200MB a day. I should really look into what it's doing.. sbc.compare/cool-pi

I recently took a look at the EDATEC CM0NANO carrier board, which at its core is the @raspberrypi.com CM0.. Whiiiich, at its core is a Pi Zero 2W in a different form factor, and a bit more I/O! sbc.compare/105-raspberr... Pi Zero with RJ45 anyone?

I've just updated the default Radxa Dragon Q8B run to the #Armbian Debian 14 image that allows HPL to finish with the X1C cores capped to 2.49GHz~ sbc.compare/116-radxa-dr... 20 GFLOPS ahead of the rest.. 50.3W power draw though.. 😰

Both SoCs and SBCs come out of StarFive, and all 3 are fun little #RISCV (you'll see their JH7110 SoCs elsewhere too!) boards that can get you into the ecosystem.. sbc.compare/starfive (The VF2 was also the 1st SBC I backed on Kickstarter!)

Call me crazy, but the Sipeed NanoKVM Pro exposed SSH with a full Ubuntu system running on it so um.. Yes, I benchmarked it! sbc.compare/89-sipeed-na... I'd probably just use it as a KVM as God intended, though..

Raspberries? Bananas? What about Mangoes? MangoPi stole our hearts with the bright pink Zero form-factor #RISCV Allwinner D1 SBC and quickly followed it up with a H618 ARM option but it's been quiet since :( sbc.compare/mango-pi

The pricing is suffering due to the wonderful RAM pricing, but the Radxa Dragon Q8B is one of the more exciting options I've tested in the last few months. sbc.compare/116-radxa-dr... The Qualcomm X1C cores are some of the most powerful I've benched!

@armsom-official.bsky.social sent me a "broken" sample long ago labelled "ArmSoM-S5" and I've just found it.. It has an RK3588, 128GB eMMC, and 2x16GB LPPDR4 chips. Not sure which bit is broken exactly, but there's a jumper wire going from the SoC to the PMIC (?) sooo.. I'll accept offers over $5000
