I don't live in CA anymore, but when I did I volunteered with the homeless population. The time a little girl broke her glasses and cried because she knew no one would replace them is seared into my brain. Is it too much to ask to let people who have little have something?

The crazy thing about that is that Republicans had very clearly changed the public sentiment on immigration. Polling numbers were largely supportive of immigration until Republicans made it scary.

Years ago. I bought a mushroom hat somewhat like that from Crate and Barrel. It seemed like a good 50% of the kids coming to the door would ask "Are you a mushroom?" I guess it's not an expected costume choice. I wore it with dark tie dye tights so I could be a poisonous mushroom.

A recent study showed that 1 in 4 pro players end up with CTE. A lot of those players grew up without resources and will pay the price with their lives. I don't see that as a gift to any communities. How about we put resources into communities that don't destroy people's lives in the long term?

It's also worth noting that Dem leaders were reluctant to come out with full-throated support of abortion rights before those rights got taken away. Polling was mixed, and Dem leaders let polling dictate their decisions, never mind that polling changes.

I hadn't followed the story until my dad mentioned it. My grandmother had postpartum psychosis in the early 60's. She was treated (sort of), but it infuriated her that no one cared about her children. It doesn't sound like enough has changed.

I swear a lot in my personal life but I also dislike how Trump has enabled swearing. The Democrats are doing it now, too, I guess because they think it sounds strong. It just sounds disturbingly angry to me.
