There are two main types of melanin in silek skin that determine it's color: Type A imparts a golden brown skin tone, and type B a slate-blue. Melanistic sileks with high concentrations of both appear a deep black-grey. Pupils, lips, and eyelids are always black unless the specimen is a true albino.

They typically come in greys, browns, and reds. Usually with countershading (lighter belly, darker back). Often they demonstrate "point" coloring (darker at the extremities) and many do have stripes! Saz is actually leucistic, so most are not all white like him. His clutchmate Tef for instance:
