talent is a lie

probs a lukewarm take, but it feels like we're trying to optimize ourselves out of our own lives, especially in the past few years. hobbies? monetized. productivity? through the roof. health/food/exercise? measured to a decimal. fun? condensed. where's the humanity in perfect optimization?

It's very hard to be creative right now

Not to get all reddit atheist but its a concerning parallel to religion the way people get funneled into adhering to nebulous dogma via social media. Its been said before but people like zuck get to effectively be mortal gods reshaping the world in their image. We need a social media iconoclasm.

I spent the last few months talking to over 30 game developers about generative AI. It began as a sort of interview survey but became a pretty comprehensive collection of arguments against the technology altogether. www.gamesradar.com/games/why-so...

Please keep creating, even if you think you suck at it, please keep going. What you're doing matters so much more than you realize in a world that is actively trying to suck out creativity and heart from the world for the sake profit and greed Be the heart the world needs

The way profit maxxing corpo culture has invaded every form of art through algorithms pushing people into daily posting is really weighing on me lately. Efficiency and regularity of making "content" being prized above all else feels so grim, man.

what do you call the point in thesis writing when you make yourself laugh by accidentally singing "apple bottom beans"?

sometimes education blesses me with the opportunity to make a meme (this was made for my homework lol)

A stick figure person on their hands and knees with tears in their eyes looking at a glitching brain in front of them. Top text says "Why it no work", bottom text says "I need to graduate".

Ever since I found out I can bamboozle my brain into doing work is by telling myself 'I'm not going to do it, I'm just opening the file just for no reason at all' and then I, inevitably, start working on it, I feel like a silly little animal in a zoo that gets distracted into doing a trick.

Wanted to start out on this platform by posting something I have very fond memories of making. I only just realized I never put these side by side in one picture, whoops.
