Biker Mice from Mars is a top-tier licensed SNES game and one of Konami’s more underrated racers.

The Revenge of Shinobi is easily one of the best early Genesis games and a perfect example of Sega’s arcade-style philosophy.

Rygar is one of the most ambitious early NES action-adventure games and better than the arcade game in every way.

Luigi's Mansion is an excellent mix of exploration, puzzle-solving, and ghost hunting wrapped in a charming haunted-house adventure.

Capcom created a great little title in Gargoyle’s Quest. It does just enough to feel unique from Ghouls ‘n Ghosts and stands on its own.

Cannon Spike is a solid mix of overhead action and boss rush design that is greater than the sum of its parts.

More than simply a great licensed game, GoldenEye 007 is one of the most important Nintendo 64 games ever made.

Koudelka is a bold experiment at combining survival horror and RPG storytelling in ways few games attempt. But it does not get it right.

Blast Wind is a solid game at its core. But at the same time I can see why it was not a hit. What is here is good but there is not enough of it.

ActRaiser is a remarkable hybrid that successfully merges action and simulation into something greater than the sum of its parts.

ESWAT: City Under Siege is a creative twist on the arcade game and offers an even better action experience in my opinion.

If you are building a list of must-play TurboGrafx-16 games, Ninja Spirit belongs near the very top.

Changeable Guardian Estique is a showcase of what institutional knowledge and modern tools can accomplish on an old platform.

Metroid Fusion is an outstanding game. Accept Metroid Fusion for what it is and you have one of the best reasons to own a Gameboy Advance.

Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out is one of the greatest NES games ever made. That goes without saying.

Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader is widely considered one of the best Star Wars games of its time and lives up to that hype.

Arctic Thunder is a fun and fast-paced racing game, at least in the arcade. At home it does not match up to the arcade in any shape or form.

Blue Stinger is best remembered as a flawed but entertaining title, one that offers moments of unintended hilarity amid its chaotic design.

Star Fox 64 is a master class in arcade game design. It is easily one of the top ten best games for the Nintendo 64.

One is a good game with a few rough spots. If the camera and controls were better One could have been one of the PS One's best action games.

Clockwork Knight is charming, no doubt. But charm only gets you so far. The sequel is a much better game.

Suikoden I & II HD Remaster is an excellent, modern window in to two RPG classics.

Ninja Gaiden Shadow is a successful hybrid of two distinct action games and a solid title.

Cosmic Fantasy 2 is a mediocre RPG that gets by on its use of CD technology at the time. This one is average at best.

Bart’s Nightmare is sadly another bad licensed game. The interesting mix of creativity and frustration does not quite come together.

ZPF is a fantastic modern Genesis shooter that feels both authentic and refined and is worth your time.

Gumshoe is a bold and creative experiment that tries something completely different that is held back by imprecise controls and repetitive gameplay.

Big Challenge! Dogfight Spirit is an inoffensive shooter that does the bare minimum in the genre and nothing else.

Mottomo Abunai Deka is a poor man’s Golgo 13. The action is stiff, the enemies are brain dead, and it lacks any kind of excitement.

I tempered my expectations as the game is old. I did not need to be cautious as Tengai has held up and is still good for a quick run.

Barunba is a decent game but that does not cut it. There is nothing outright bad with the game but there is also nothing that stands out.

There are a few cool ideas present in Terra Cresta however the game surrounding them simply does not hold up.

I like Harley’s Humongous Adventure. But do I like it enough to recommend it? I do not know.

In the end Kidou Keisatsu Patlabor cannot avoid being another in a long line of bad licensed games

Magmax is not a good game and shows its age. Even if its North American release were timely it would not stand up to its competition.

It is hard to dislike P-47. It has all the pieces of a solid shooter but lacks the x-factor that will make you rush out and buy it.

Crossfire is a long forgotten title in the Genesis library for a reason. Aside from being rare it is thoroughly average in every category.

It takes a special level of ineptitude to make a bad game based on the Terminator. Yet somehow the developers did just that.

Developer: AM2    Publisher: Takara    Release: 01/06/89    Genre: Rail Shooter I found it strange growing up to see black cartridges of Sega arcade games for the NES. I will admit there was something...

Cliffhanger is bad. I truly cannot think of one good thing to say about this game other than to avoid it at all costs.

I wanted to like this version of Marble Madness. But the port is simply not good. Sometimes some games should stay in the arcade.
