I did a few changes on my script that counts new users. Bskycheck was over estimating the number of new user vs bsky.jazco.dev/stats by around 5% (it got worse recently not sure why). Did a few adaptations to get closer, over-estimation is now around 1-2%.

I am having some push back from users not agreeing with the categorization of the users I am doing in: bskycheck.com/followstat.php Can you help me 🙏 to change the criteria (and category names)? Here are the criteria used to categorize users:

New or Dormant User 🆕 Followers < 50 and post count < 20
Mass Following 🌱 Followers > 400 and 7x more following than followers
or Followers > 1K and 4x more following than followers
or Followers > 3K and 2x more following than followers

Star Account ⭐ Followers > 150K and following / followers ratio < 0.5
Aspiring Star 📢 Followers > 10K and following / followers ratio < 0.3
Content Broadcaster 📡 Followers > 1K and following / followers ratio < 0.5 and posts count > 100 and original post percentage > 60
Engagement Specialist 💬 Followers > 1K and reply percentage > 40 and post count > 100 and 0.6 ≤ following / followers ratio ≤ 1.4
Reciprocal Networker 🔄 Followers > 300 and 0.8 ≤ follower ratio ≤ 1.2 and follows count > 300
Selective Networker 🎯 Followers > 200 and following / followers ratio < 0.6
Content Consumer 👁️ Post count < 50 and follower Count > 200 and follows Count > followers Count

The correlation between bskycheck’s monitoring of AT proto and the data from bsky.jazco.dev/stats website is still very strong. bskycheck.com still overestimates the number of users joining by 4-5%

Added back the bot checker tool. Take it with a grain of salt, it is far from flawless. Just a hint about account and if they might be bots.

Do I have any AT proto dev in my followers? I have a dilemma. For the past hour I see many users registration on a private PDS using clouve.com hosting. In all aspects they are legit ATproto/bluesky users but the DID does not seems to be resolvable. So remove those from my stats or not?

This graph compares the new users as computed from the ATproto stream and from bsky.jazco.dev/stats Correlation is still very good AT proto overestimate the new users by 4-5%
