Castlevania: Belmont's Curse demo. Love the stylized graphics. Controls feel really fluid with wall jumping, whip swinging, sword attacks, dodges, & magic. Moebius was a French comic artist and writer. He was extremely influential to all kinds of much more famous works across the world, from the anime of Miyazaki to the Star Wars films. I borrowed this book from the library and it has really gorgeous art. I thought I'd share a couple of pages that

And it seems to be exploring that through a alternate dimension storyline, which does have a connection with time travel (since this is the sequel to Chrono Trigger): the idea that you can go back in time and make different decisions. I'll have to see what I'm thinking about the game as I play more.

I haven't completely wrapped my head around the elemental combat system yet, but the nice thing about having this remaster is it has both fast-forwarding and a boost mode if I end up needing help with battles later, so that might make it more likely I can get through the whole game.

Going back to it now, I can tell from the beginning that the game has a certain slower-paced vibe. It wants you to appreciate the beautiful and detailed graphics to inhabit this world they have created; to explore this starting tropical island town and surrounding area at a leisurely pace.

Playing through Chrono Cross, I could see ways in which it inspired her for her graphic novel, Pyraliss, such as the element of world dragons and her main character sharing the name of a random boss fight.

I did play and get into the game at the time, but when I got to the end of disc 1, it was a hassle to plug the PlayStation Portable back into the computer and set up the second disc, so I procrastinated and ended up never doing it.

I had two of them: first Legend of Mana, which my friend and I both got around the time it came out: Secret of Mana had been an important part of our childhood. We used to play that game two player and greatly enjoy it. For Christmas, I got the second game in that trilogy: Threads of Fate.

Since years ago, Suany @dragondenhollow had imported the cartridge for Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers edition remaster for Switch, I decided to pop it in and start playing. There were three games in Squaresoft's 2000 "Summer of Adventure," which I always found and evocative promotion.

I love the whole movie but one of my classic favorites was always Marlene recounting the events of the original game and getting to see those in nice graphics. It might not hit as hard in future rewatches after having the entire game reimagined in nice graphics!
