WA-5 is not “Eastern WA averages.” The $100K figure comes from MIT’s Living Wage Calculator for a 4-person household in Spokane County, covering housing, food, childcare, healthcare, etc. “Mean income” is skewed by high earners and does not reflect what families need to stay self-sufficient.
