When AI is used you do not need to disclose _which_; however you do need to describe _how_. The paper 2608.18024 is a particularly good example of this.

- AI was used in a more substantial research capacity. (Please be explicit. For examples see the declarations of arxiv.org/pdf/2609.03651 or of arxiv.org/pdf/2608.18024 for some examples)

- AI was used in a more substantial fashion. (Please be explicit. Possible uses include: finding references, creating figures, adversarial reading, finding examples and/or counterexamples, writing code, and so on.)

Here is a useful guide (based on remarks of Hendrik De Bie): - No AI was used. (For an example, see the declaration of arxiv.org/pdf/2607.19207 .) - AI was used for typesetting and language clean-up only.

I have been using a version of your request. Here it is (broken into pieces to fit): For the author(s): Please resubmit after adding a Tool Use Declaration and/or an AI Use Declaration and/or a Human Authorship Declaration.

Speaking just for myself: yes. For some submissions, I have seen some delays, which are sometimes quite substantial. Poorly written papers, and papers that appear to be AI-generated, are contributing to this. I strongly support Hendrik De Bie's helpful advice here: bsky.app/profile/debi...

Here is a graph.
A graph of time (in years) versus number (of papers submitted to the ArXiv in August). Shows an increase in most categories of perhaps 1.5 going from 2025 to 2026.
