The data are extremely clear: the faster a vehicle is going, the more likely it is that a crash will result in significant injuries or death. The City is actively working to make our streets safer through engineering, enforcement, education, and evidence-based interventions.

I had a wonderful time visiting the Literacy Network and learning about the work they do for our community. They offer classes and tutoring to learn english, learn computer skills, or to help you get your GED or HSED. They're helping people in our community get connected to education and careers.

It was a real full circle moment for me to cut the ribbon on the new Warner Park Center gym and art installation. WPCRC has always been a place where kids play, teens learn, adults stay active and older adults connect. These new spaces will provide even more opportunities for people of all ages.

I was honored to speak at the Regional Housing Summit alongside colleagues from Fitchburg, Oregon, Cottage Grove and Mt. Horeb. Madison has made good progress on making it easier to build homes, but we still have a ways to go to make sure working families can have good options for where to live.

I had a great time chatting with folks at the Northside Farmers Market recently. We had some good conversations about housing, noise pollution, transit, local businesses, and more. I remember before the Northside had a farmers market - and now it's bustling every Sunday morning!

Habitat for Humanity has been a great partner in creating affordable home ownership opportunities in Madison! We've worked with them to build homes in several Madison neighborhoods, and I'm looking forward to partnering more. I was happy to join a great group of volunteers at Frame Up on the Square.

The occupation of the intersection is neither a safe nor sustainable. It cannot make the independent investigation move faster or change state law. It is distracting from rather than supporting the dialogue that needs to happen to make lasting change. It is deeply harming the Marquette neighborhood.
