Today in the evening on Aug 12 2026 the most interesting solar eclipse in Europe happens since 1999! In #Graz #Austria, members of our team will be present on top of the Schlossberg in the city center, at an eclipse viewing event organized by M. Temmer from @uni-graz.at ! ESA broadcast link👇

Interesting article. I wonder though if the paraboloid shape is an outcome of SOC (Self Organised Criticality) !

It was an honour to deliver an invited talk at the historic Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre during the international meeting “The Variable Sun: Past, Present and Future Perspectives.” I presented our recent work from the Austrian Space Weather Office, on understanding errors in solar wind predictions.

There is a slow #solarstorm approaching the Earth, with models for the 🌍 arrival time ranging from early Sat Jul 26 to early Mon Jul 28 - a very wide range indeed! In SDO/SOHO images it is NOT the fast eruption to the right (look for a ☄️ there!), but a faint "halo" around the ☀️ on early July 23.
