My Turkey, Geopolitics and the Age of Populist World-Making: Remaking Regional Orders is now out www.routledge.com/Turkey-Geopo...
Is the distinction between the domestic and the international still useful for understanding populism - or should we see populism as a force of world-making, shaping political realities both at home and abroad?
In Turkey, Geopolitics and the Age of Populist World-Making, I develop the idea of populist world-making to explore how populist projects do more than react to international change: they seek to reinterpret, contest, and reshape the orders around them. From the Kurdish question through Syria, Somalia, Libya and the Eastern Mediterranean, the book traces how Turkey has sought not simply to navigate a turbulent region, but to remake the terms on which regional order itself is imagined and organised.
