Classic example of using the wrong tense from The Guardian here. It should be "What if the jury had known, etc.," for the headline to make sense. I'm seeing this more and more, and particularly from the States.
At 18, Christa Pike was sentenced to death for murder. What if the jury knew she had suffered years of sexual abuse as a child?

If you're within reach of Acton in London I'll be at a lovely market in Churchfield Road, 1000-1630. Always very buzzy with lots of great sellers and food.
Image shows four carved vases on a pale wooden surface against a white wall. They are blue and white glazed on grey clay. I made them. Text reads: Acton Makers Market, Churchfield Road W3, Saturday 19th Sept, 10:00-16:30

TIL that WH Smith invented the ISBN, which is quite tragic considering how the company ended up.
Photo of a museum display at The Meechants House, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.
Image of a gabled building: text alongside reads:

In 1966 the company created a standard book number consisting of a nine-digit-code, which was adopted in 1970 as the international standard number which finally became the Interantional Book Standard Number, known as ISBN, in 1974.
