bonus sketches from website design concepts
A concept sketch for an element on a website. There is a tanuki character inside of a rounded box with text above them that says "Please give pets" pointing to their head. The description text to the side outlines that you need to click on their head (which pets them) to proceed to the main website.A concept sketch for a webpage. The page contains header text proclaiming "Hi there, I'm" with larger rendered text of the name "Sarylla." To the side of this text is a tanuki character with their eyes closed waving to the page visitor. Below is a divider line that divides the main page, consisting of some navigation links on the left, and bio text on the right. At the bottom are buttons that link to external websites. Behind the main elements of the webpage is a starry background.

been experimenting a lil, testing out a new approach to drawing the critter :3
three sketches of a tanuki character.
on the left, they are looking away from the camera while pointing their index digits together.
in the middle, a more neutral expression, smiling at the viewer.
on the right, they are giving a sigh of relief while letting their ears down.

the weirdest incident I had was switching over to gentoo again, trying to use it with binary packages, and for god knows why my ffxiv cursor looked like this. no other distro has done this to me before, nor has gentoo done this in the past either !!
a slightly mangled version of the Final Fantasy XIV Online custom cursor, with the image cut off halfway, and doubled right after the cutoff

the fun part about linux is when modloader devs don't develop natively for the os, so you have to write jank ass wrapper scripts like this just to launch the required modloader. this was entirely just to use the archipelago mod btw

haven't drawn in like 2 or 3 months, so here's a lil warm up I did of my sona, quartz, to get a feel for their shapes again :3
a messy sketch of my tanuki fursona, named Quartz. they have a noticeably large tail and are posing with their left leg bent backwards and their left arm held behind their back, whilst giving the "peace" sign to the viewer

#5 Hades II really gotta spend more time with this one. only been able to complete a single run (which is more than I can say about the original >w<,) but what I have played so far felt like an improvement on almost everything in the first game while also feeling like it's own thing. big recommend

#4 Kingdom Hearts - Final Mix very late to the party on these games, but imho they haven't aged a bit. while the game can feel loose at times both in story and gameplay, I had a fantastic ride with this game and am super stoked to see what the hype around kh2 is about

#3 Limbus Company a little while back last year, some friends got me into lobo corp, then some streamers I watch got me interested in ruina. I spiraled from there, lol Writing is absolutely fantastic, combat extremely fun, and god dude the project moon world is so interesting to explore.

#2 FINAL FANTASY XIV I'd been on hiatus for around 7ish months expecting not to resub, but dammit the 7.4 msq and raids won me back over. then I met this extremely lovely fc of the most kind and inviting individuals I've met. I fear I might be cooked once again... oh, right! game good go try/buy

#1 DEADLOCK yep. another moba. help. TO BE FAIR, I've been playing with fc members who are super nice, so the vibe hasn't been as toxic as it would be solo q, and it's been very fun so far! character kits are super diverse and allow for tons of creativity. also REM. nuff said

#16 Guild Wars 2 Finally (finally) decided to tackle another large-scale mmo after starting ffxiv 3 years ago and it's been pretty fun so far! Really enjoying how fleshed out the world is and the way the leveling process seamlessly integrates with area exploration. Very enjoyable experience so far

#15 UNBEATABLE the devs of this game are lowkey assholes for making me play a full ass rhythm game while I was bawling my eyes out (the story is incredible holy fuck <3) also the first rhythm game to keep me grinding past the 20 hour mark since I picked up osu in 2020

it's been a while, but here we are again! :3 #14 Slay the Princess definitely one of my favorite smaller experiences I've gotten to check out in the past couple years. art is an absolute treat to look at, writing is genuinely amazing, and the music compliments every moment so well

#13 Toontown Rewritten I first played way back in 2016 while it was still in open beta, and loved it back then. same still applies now, I got so hooked that within just a couple weeks I'm at dreamland and have all 6 gag tracks. it's free to play with no mtx, so like, go try it lol

#12 HASTE continuing the landfall games train, this genuinely feels like something SEGA could do for a sonic game and I would eat it up if they did. the speed feels intoxicating and the game just generally feels really smooth to control given said speed

#11 PEAK this is like a total brain off game for me, just find a path and climb. Works fantastically with friends, the teamwork mechanics and mindlessly climbing with friends makes for a wonderful experience. One of the only games I've tried to 100% so let that speak for me lol

#10 DOOM (2016) did a replay before going back into eternal, still as much fun as I remember. unfortunately very rough around the edges (SO many background objects got me stuck or even softlocked into death) but I'd say it still holds up well enough

#9 DELTARUNE 3&4 superbosses were fantastic this time around, especially loved how creative chapter 4's was with the battle mechanics, and chapter 3's for the much welcomed difficulty spike. everything else is like a straight improvement over the previous 2 chapters. it's cinema, folks

#8 Stellaris never really found myself as much of a 4X kind of person until I picked up UFO 50. Been playing this a bit with friends, and it's been lots of fun despite the desyncing issues. RTS mixed with 4X is such a fun combination and makes the game feel very satisfying to play

#7 Xenoblade Chroincles (Definitive Edition) legitimately struggling to recap my general thoughts in the character limit because I have too many. bottom line is, best story I have experienced ever, like wow, very fun combat system, and a party to rival the scions of the seventh dawn

#6 Monster Hunter Wilds Performance issues aside, holy hell what a game. The new weapon movesets, creative monsters, and returns of a couple of my old favorite fights, all blend together to make a game equally as addicting as 4U and Rise were to me in past years. I'm afraid it's peam,,,

#6 Among Us I hadn't played mongy for nearly 4 years and god did I miss playing this game lol. Even after all this time, it's still my favorite social deduction game, and with the newish "Town of Us" mod, there's loads of new roles to make everything fresh again!

it's been a sec, oops! continuing this with #5, Minecraft! I really don't have a lot to say here, I play a new server once every few months, this time I learned how to use create and wow, what a mod. Also messed with CPM a bit, so I guess there's that too :3

#4 Monster Hunter World I actually came back to this after getting very put off by iceborne back in early 2024. Coming back now with knowledge of the clutch claw holy fuck was I wrong in hating this game. The combat is still rather slow compared to 4u but god does it feel so amazing to play

#3. UFO 50 originally my GOTY pick for last year until I picked up beastieball. still one of the best games in the last decade hands down, every game bangs, every concept is wholly unique, and the extra cherry objectives have kept me coming back for hours. please play this game >w<

#2. Marvel Rivals going in, I didn't expect too much from this but damn does it deliver. gameplay that feels as much, if not more fun than the original overwatch, and with a really fun twist given the context of marvel superheroes. expect to likely see this one next year lol

#1. Beastieball honest to god contender for my favorite game with FFXIV, I have so much to say about this game I might as well make a youtube video lmao. extremely innovative gameplay systems, team building is a blast, and there's so much depth to a rather simple battle system on the surface
