I’ve been advocating nonviolent struggle which means some things like protests and/or strikes. It’s we the people collectively who will do this. At Camp Mystic, they should have evacuated everyone the day before. You don’t wait until 3 hours before an event hits to get everyone out. Even if you weren’t expecting a lot of flooding, where 8 year old little girls are involved, they shouldn’t have taken any chances.

So there have now been four 100 year rain events in the last seven days. Rivers have flooded to over 20 feet in 45 minute time frames, in Central Hill Country, Texas; Ruidoso, New Mexico; Central North Carolina; and Chicago and Cook county, Illinois. It’s climate change, folks!

Yeah, I can't wrap my head around it either. It's a stunning failure of our National Security agencies that they didn't see what was happening. And everything you said about our government is true. Well yeah, I do see your point. But I see the real problem as being a lack of enforcement for our laws. Our entire government just stopped enforcing the Constitution at some point. All of this could be solved if our laws were enforced. We are a nation of laws. That is what makes us a democracy.

Like I said, there are simply more of us than there are of them, even ICE agents. Unless Trump has some roughly 270 million ICE agents, his ICE force can not match the population of the U.S. who are not MAGA's. It also remains to be seen whose side our military will take, if it comes down to that.

Yes, I agree with you, it is. We are going to see more and more extreme weather events as the summer wears on, and without the NWS, NOAA, and FEMA, a lot more people will die from a lack of early warning. DOGE gutted these programs with cuts to funding and staff.
