I really want to ask these people "what about HP is so important to your life that you're ok knowing supporting it is literally harming and killing trans people? Explain it to me like I'm 6 because I can't conceive of something that makes that worth it."

Damn, now I want to write a crossover where the Firefly get caught in some kind of weird space anomaly and comes out of the wormhole at DS9. Oh great googly moogly, Simon and Julian interacting is simply too gay.

I have no interest at all in the series. The story was ok the first time, then I watched the movies, I really don't need to do it again with a remix. It's still going to have the bad parts and still financially supports campaigns against trans people.

I watched DS9 for the first time when I was in college and I didn't particularly like Sisko. I found his emotional presentation weird and I just didn't get him. The one thing I did like was his relationship with Jake. Watching it again with years of experience as an adult, I was wrong, he makes

Oooh that's a good point. At least with Circle of Magic there is kind of that. They have the Earth, Air, Fire, and Water temples that the mages end up in.

Sarik 🖤🩶🤍💜 @sarikvaster.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Blood at the Root is a black author writing a black boy going to magic school in the American south and is so very good but is more appropriate for older teens rather than kids or preteens.

Also, in case anyone wants "kids going to magic school" that isn't HP that you can read for yourself or introduce to the kids in your life, Earthsea by Ursula K LeGuin is iconic. The Circle of Magic quartets by Tamora Pierce are really good and geared at exactly the age group HP targets.

000

Sarik 🖤🩶🤍💜 @sarikvaster.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

You can use hair gel to help keep that look. I'd put a little bit in my wet hands and rub my palms together to get it loosened up and diluted with the water. Then run your hands through your hair to apply a very light coating to it. You should be able to keep the same 'just showered' look.
