Luck didn’t get you here. The effort you’ve been putting in every single day is what actually keeps you going. You’ve been showing up and doing the work and that’s usually what makes all the difference. 🫶

Cubbi launched in February 2024. About a year later, in early 2025, a producer reached out to Olivia and Tanyka Davson and asked if they’d come on Dragon’s Den. Then, in May 2025, they filmed the episode JUST one week before Olivia gave birth to her second child. 🫶

Besides 'Buy Bitcoin early' 😅, Fredrik shared some really grounded advice for anyone who is navigating their career: focus on understanding the big picture, stay genuinely curious, and don't fear major tech shifts like AI when they arrive.

GIVE SOMEONE A SECOND CHANCE A job isn’t just a paycheck—for many, it’s a second chance. In this clip, Hugh shares how watching a quiet logistics driver named Bob change the lives of long-term unemployed team members transformed his whole perspective on work.

AI is affecting different generations in very different ways. Senior workers say, “I know how to do this better than AI. I’ve spent years learning my craft.” For Gen Z, the concern is almost the opposite. Will I even get the chance to learn that craft in the first place?

What happens when you lose the chance to learn from people with more experience than you? They tell you that AI will just make you faster. But here's what we don't talk about. What it could also take away!

Giving people access to AI is the easy part The harder question is what happens after that Do people actually change how they work? Or do they try it a few times and go back to doing things the way they always have? That’s where AI adoption gets interesting.

“Code is not as valuable today as it was five years ago or even two years ago.” For a while, the code was the hard part to replicate. That’s changing with AI. So, where does the value sit? 💻

“Programming test - that’s just a waste of time, to be honest” A coding test can show you whether someone knows how to code. But when you’re hiring an engineer, you also want to see how they think. Give them a problem that’s too big to solve quickly and see what happens.

“We are problem solvers, not just an area of coding.” Fredrik Scherstén Your code isn’t your identity. AI can write code faster. That can be hard to take when being good at coding is a big part of how you see your value.

I’ve worked with some of the best engineers in the industry. One of the most interesting conversations I’ve had recently was with Fredrik Scherstén, CTO at Howwe Technologies. I wanted to hear how he thinks AI is changing engineering.

CAN AI BE LESS BIASED THAN HUMANS? It's easy to only worry about the algorithms. But let's not forget that humans are very biased too.

more time to actually talk to your candidates!! Jon's best advice for recruiters right now is to implement AI and stay up to date with everything new that's coming out. Big companies usually take a while to implement new things so smaller teams should take advantage of that.

recruiting is a stressful job specially when raround 95% of candidate aren’t a good match. What makes it so tricky is that you need to match two completely separate strangers to commitment to collaborate.

everyone is talking about how AI will change creative work. for a while now, the tools have kept changing. We went from working with our hands to using computers. The job itself hasn’t changed. To give you some background, a designer 200 years ago built a chair because someone needed a place to sit.

WHY DESIGN ETHICS CAN'T BE IGNORED Good intentions aren't enough when you're designing products people will use every day. Every decision shapes someone's experience, so ethics needs to be part of the process from the start. Ziqq Rafit simplifies it into 3 questions any designer can ask.

SAY YES NOW, FILTER LATER Early on, you kind of have to jump on every chance that comes along. You say yes, figure things out as you go and learn from whatever goes wrong. Every opportunity moves you forward a little bit, even the bad ones.

FOUNDER IS A JOB, NOT A STATUS Calling yourself a founder isn't a badge of honor, it's just a job. Anyone can hop online, fill out a form, and call themselves a founder, but the title doesn't mean much on its own.

What if cash flow forecasting was actually simple? most of us founders have an accountant…..**but** that doesn't mean that we have someone that is helping us make better financial decisions.

Sara Tavasolian @saratavasolian.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
One of the biggest mistakes we make as founders is that we assume that we can just hand off our finance to our accountants and stop worrying about it.....and sure at first that feels completely reasonable. You hire an accountant, they send over the reports and you think everything is under control

Hugh predicts AI will create a "missing middle" effect in business and employment. Middle management jobs will be heavily impacted by AI automation. He also foresees a barbell economy: at one end, massive tech companies raising enormous capital with centralized power.

This will change how you think about starting something new. We all wait until we feel ready. Until we know enough. Until we look like we belong. But what if not knowing was actually the point?

According to Hugh: AI will hit middle management hardest. Not entry level, not the top — the middle layer of businesses is getting hollowed out. Power centralises in a few big tech companies. Small businesses survive. Everything in between is at risk.

The factory economy was built on volume. The more you produce, the more you make. That was the whole model. It looks like that model is changing.

Sara Tavasolian @saratavasolian.bsky.social · 10/05/2026
Brands order more stock than they can sell on purpose. Not by accident. Ordering in bulk lowers the cost per unit which looks good on their targets. The factory wants the volume so they push for bigger orders. Everyone hits their numbers and thousands of pieces end up unsold.
