Good luck! And make sure to walk away for a moment when you need to - better to take a breath and reset. It's a lesson I've had to learn myself.

So I'll be creating a corner of the Internet to share my own little bit of happiness. And if it clicks with someone else, that's more than I could ever ask for. 🐝🦝

000

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

This doesn't mean I'm not going to ever experiment - there's quite a few video ideas I have and different content styles I want to do. And I'm always open to suggestions and feedback. But I've learned over the years that if I'm not having fun, the content suffers.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Even with trying to have varied content on my Twitch/streaming schedule to have a wider audience appeal, I'm still picking and choosing games I like and enjoy, or want to play.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

And maybe that's not the best way to make creative content. But they're my channels and the foremost reasons for doing this are to share games I enjoy and play & complete the multitude of games I own, especially those friends have recommended to me.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

So when trying to record on a more frequent basis, including picking up old series like RE3, I'm playing the games in a manner that prioritizes my enjoyment of the game - I wouldn't have picked the games if I didn't plan to enjoy them.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

But I had to overcome my initial confusion and essential relearning of the game. Like because I rushed the story and didn't spend time exploring the worlds, I had kinda forgotten everything. But after the first bit, I was having a blast. I even learned a glitch or two.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Seeing it again and all the cool movement tech reminded me of how fun it was to play A Hat in Time and that movement and tech. So I picked it up again to go back through and complete all the post game and stuff I missed. And I had so much fun just exploring the worlds again and learning the tech.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Mario Odyssey I was so hyped for its launch - the vibes, the theme, everything. But in trying to keep up with the launch and beating it in a reasonable time to match the friend group at the time, I kinda just put it away for years. Until the YouTube algo brought it back into my feed.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Because I've learned that trying to force myself to play games in a manner that I don't jive with is detrimental to my enjoyment of the game. I'm tired of trying to keep up or minimize exploring, just so I can be "focused" or in the loop. I just end up not having fun.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

I allowed myself to do the end game work offline, while all the new and interesting discovery of the new game, I streamed. And I think that balanced well, if not one stream too many.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Blue Prince is the perfect example. I was extremely hyped for the game when I played the demo, and since it was a rogue-like, I was fine with streaming it for a few days. And when the streams felt repetitive and the gameplay was less new discovery, I took it offline.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Not to say I don't/won't do that, but I have to be both really interested in the game, and okay with either not completing the game on stream or following through with it.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

It's why I choose games to play on my channel that I either really like already or are really interested in playing, and it's also why I play games at my own pace - I don't want to burn myself out or overwhelm myself on a gamejust because it's the new game of the week.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Mario Odyssey felt the same when I opened it up again. The first few worlds I knew I had explored plenty so it was only post game stuff to complete. But after about 2 kingdoms, I was lost/overwhelmed because there was so much stuff left over from just rushing the story.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

It's one of the reasons I struggled through Sparks of Hope when I picked it up again - I had gone only through the main story of ice world, so when I want back into it, I felt lost. Paths were open but I didn't know what I had and hadn't explored, and that frustrated me.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Both of those things are intertwined - when I was recording RE3, I had to make the decision of go forward and skip things I can unlock (including a helpful item), or go back and retract my steps to unlock the new stuff. And I decided to go back and stay true to how I prefer to go through games.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

DK Bonanza: I put it down cause realizing I could smash everything overwhelmed me when I first played it. However, I had been thinking about how I rushed through Mario Odyssey to complete it, then was kinda confused when I went back to start 100% it. And I don't want to do that to DK.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Resident Evil 3: I missed playing Resident Evil games. Outside of 3 and DLCs, I have 1 & 0 combo pack, 8, Revelations 1 & 2, 4 Remake. And I'd like to do 9. Like they spook me, but are still fun to play. So it was nice to get back into it.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

A few things from today: - I finally recorded more Resident Evil 3 again - Picked up DK Bananza again - I think I'll be able to stream semi regularly this week

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

Sunday Funday! I've got a lot to work on today, but first some lunch and care. My plan is to get some Resident Evil 3 recorded prior to the Seahawks game. Then work on the editing. Schedule for the week also will be posted!

000

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I'm using this week as a get things done around the house, so I'm a bit more caught up as work and some other obligations go into full swing.

000

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Got some recording done last night! I'm planning to have videos back on YouTube starting next week. For streams, I'm going to put together a specific October calendar - I do want to do spooky, but still work in the other projects I have going on.

100

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Good morning and Happy Wednesday! I'm getting some things set up to record new content tonight. I feel bad/guilty I'm not streaming/posting videos enough, yet I don't have a path to a stable schedule in the near future. For now, I'll do my best with the time I have.

I did make a schedule - and as soon as it was saved, plans changed. So I'm gonna wing it this week and just try to work streams in when I can.

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

Thanks for joining tonight! I did end up rolling credits, but there's still some achievements and personal goals to do!

And late night stream tonight is questionable. I forgot I need to redo the scenes for the twitch only layout, so I'm gonna eat dinner then migrate to the loft to rearrange it and organize it.

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

There's a lot of stuff that needed to happen today for my job that just didn't. So I am forgiving myself now so I can work on my home tasks and will set aside time tomorrow to do those things. So I can allow myself to enjoy my evening and not feel guilty about work.

000

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

I am trying to develop my content into new ideas and "digestible" one-offs, without sacrificing the content I like to make.

000

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

My YouTube is still going to be long form let's plays (I have too many plans) and I'm gonna have some major recording sessions this weekend. But I have a few ideas for bonus vids that align with how I like to play games.

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

So, in preparation for an idea I have for Slime Rancher 2, I'll likely be streaming Slime Rancher 1 tonight. I have some stuff to tackle mid-afternoon, so late night streams it is. My goal is to finish Slime Rancher 1 and 100% it (all achievos, treasure pods, item upgrades, et al).

Good afternoon - it's been a week. I'm hoping to get schedules out for this weekend and next week in the next day or so. Thanks for hanging in their - I'm excited to keep using the new outfit! On the YouTube front, I'll be batch recording this weekend - new stuff next week!

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I still have all my regular tasks I'll have to do after work, whenever that is. Kinda glad I'm taking care of my doc appointment this week, cause work's about to be high priority.

000

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Tonight, I'm going to try and record something different. Might not be live immediately, but I'm trying to see how this will go. I have a major room to clean, and want to do like a before/time lapse/after with it.

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Good morning all. I'll put together a schedule today, but some plans changed, so no stream tonight. It's been a long week and it's only Wednesday.

000

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Schedule should be out tomorrow. Likely some Overwatch with the new model also streamed tomorrow. Sorry for being a little afk since the debut.

000

Sara @sarasuzycake.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

No Splaturday today. I've got a lot of prep work for the next week to do, and my Sunday is more out of pocket than I originally thought, so today's the day.

Like, I remember taking so many notes as a kid when playing games, because internet was not an option. I still do that now!! Like for Blue Prince and Fantasy Life i and even Mario/Luigi Brothership! Like there are so many detective/puzzle games I play with a notebook right along side me.
