Congrats to Donald Gilmour, mental health nurse on Norbury ward in Stockport, who is #PennineCareResearch star of the month 🌟 Donald has been extremely helpful with promoting the Vision Quest study into visual hallucinations. He's a keen research champion, helping people to take part in the study.

Colleagues on Hope unit have shared more warm words of wisdom for #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek, on the theme of ‘know yourself, grow yourself.’ Which is your favourite piece of advice, and what advice would you share for young people?

Have our mental health support teams been at your child's school for #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek or #TimeToTalkDay? It’s been brilliant to hear so many young people openly talking about mental health. Many have made a mental health pledge already. What would your pledge be?

Our young people’s mental health support teams are out at local schools and colleges for #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek These teams help children with things like worry and low mood, along with training for staff at school. Here are Jenny and Sammi on their visit to Norbury Hall Primary School today.

It’s been a busy ‘focus week’, with many teams standing down non-essential activities to improve patient flow & urgent emergency care. This is supporting people from admission to discharge safely without delay. There are external challenges, but it's about understanding them and how we can improve.

Our young people's mental health research centre received over £300,000 for research to improve the lives of children in care. This NEST study – Nurturing Environments for Shaping Trauma-informed care & recovery - will create and pilot a practical toolkit with six children’s homes in the Northwest.

Winter can be a tough time. NHS talking therapies can help with low mood and anxiety, you can refer yourself online. You can also call 111 anytime and choose the mental health option for advice if you're struggling. Check out the #FeelWellThisWinter page on our website for more advice.

Thanks to everyone who gave feedback on our strategy for 2025-2030. Our refreshed strategy is on the ‘this is us’ page of our website and has the same core principles, but with stronger and simplified ambitions: ❣️ Outstanding care ✅ Great place to work 👂 Listen to improve

A graphic to show our refreshed three big ambitions - outstanding care, great place to work, and listen to improve.
