I have been at work since 11 and ran a perfume making workshops which finished at 6. The EVRI delivery had an ETA of 19.00 to 21.00 so I'm still here at 21.45. I shall still thank him because it's not his fault he has a horrible job, but if I'd known it was EVRI I would never have bought the thing.

We made our own eclipse viewers. Ravenscourt Park was a joyful assembly of nerds with colanders, glasses and home made pinhole boxes. Valerie Singleton would be proud. A lovely pair of people also shared their glasses with everyone around them. Proper wow-worthy.

Finding out that it was true, not just a song, that was a shock. I got an odd kind of closure when the wreck was found, and I still know all the words to the song. I went to the Arctic on a ship in 1994 and kept wondering about it. I'm obsessed with a lot of things though. This just reminded me.
