Nico @santini.nz · 29/09/2026The thesis is that the bus factor in small teams that rely on agentic coding is reduced Because they need to document the context for the agents to work When before it would be all tribal undocumented knowledge 100

Nico @santini.nz · 25/09/2026But. How can I bring an iced coffee to my next interview if it’s on a video call? Do I have to leave home to buy it first, or can I make it myself? And the thought whiteboard interviews were bad, this is even harder 000

Her speech, given as parliament closes for the election, also outlines why the @greens.org.nz need to lead the next government… the video is well worth your time. #nzpol 1016290
Nico @santini.nz · 24/09/2026I remember "JavaScript Framework Fatigue" This time it feels even more exhausting. The amount of change management we’ve been doing in the past year is extreme Even back then you didn’t “have” to adopt every new tool. Now there is no choice 😮💨 001

Nico @santini.nz · 22/09/2026One Rust binary, one SQLite file. It reads the Jetstream firehose but counts a like only when that like's target is already one side of a live quote pair. Everything else is dropped at the edge. Firehose-scale counting becomes a problem bounded by quote volume. 100
Nico @santini.nz · 22/09/2026Replies are weighted lowest on purpose. A quote that takes off sends traffic back to the original, so the original's replies climb with it. Weight replies heavily and the denominator grows with the numerator — the exact posts the feed exists for get harder to find. 100
Nico @santini.nz · 22/09/2026The rule is arithmetic, not vibes. Engagement = likes + 2x reposts + 0.5x replies. A pair gets in when the quote scores 1.25x the original and one side clears 50. The quoted account needs 2,000+ followers, so nobody gets dogpiled off a 40-follower post. 100
Nico @santini.nz · 22/09/2026I was experimenting with AI Harnesses at work and as a toy project I built a Bluesky feed called Upstaged. It surfaces one thing: quote posts that got more engagement than the post they quoted. How it works 🧵 120
