i struggle with a brain that wants to stiffly copy whatever reference i'm using and one thing i've found helpful:
1. draw big blocky shapes over the reference
2. turn off ref and redraw big blocky shapes
3. draw in figure with big blocky shapes overlaid
Traducir post

photo of model posing as an elegant elf woman that ive blocked out with a chunky red brush

in a separate window ive redrawn the red blocks, then have drawn details over the red blocks, using the photo+red transparency as reference

final doodle of the figure drawing without the red blocking

Quick Neon Soul update: Original had a big thread talking about it but its too long so heres the tl;dr: -wrote script for last 3 chs of 20XX last year. Stress of both personal and world events slow progress -end up not liking the original scripts so did Rewrites this month. Feel 100% better (1/?)

Day 24 of #ArtAdventCalendar! My finished Secret Santa piece for @sanoan.bsky.social to finish off the event~ This event was so fun - I'm glad I got to participate! Merry Christmas, everyone~!

OC Art: An anime portrait of a man with short black hair on the sides, and longer hair in the middle that partly falls in his face, and to the side. His skin is peachy, but half of his face is colored blue by harsh, stylized lighting. Blue lineart lines the border between the regular skin color and the blue sections. Screentones add texture to the piece, and also act as shading.

The background is red, with a grungy dot effect laid over it.

The artist's signature, ROHE (pronounced Roy) is in the lower left corner.

I encourage anyone thinking about joining the new Webtoon contest to read the full terms carefully. I joined the last contest but will be sitting this one out. They REALLY want to guide all winners to Originals, and won't consider you a genre finalist unless you sign a contract within 14 days.

In 2025 (less than 30 days away), PayPal will start selling your transaction history for targeted advertising. I very highly recommend logging into your account and going to Settings > Data & Privacy > Personalized Shopping. If you're reading this, turn that off RIGHT NOW before you forget.

A screenshot of PayPal's terms of service. Big wall of legalese text, which I will be pasting in below. You don't need to read it, here's the important part:

"The key update to the Privacy Statement explains how we will share information with merchants to personalize your shopping experience and recommend our services to you. Personal information we disclose includes, for example, products, preferences, sizes, and styles we think you’ll like. Information gathered about you after the effective date of our updated Privacy Statement, November 27, 2024, will be shared with participating stores where you shop."

Here's the whole paragraph:

We are updating our Privacy Statement to explain how, starting early Summer 2025, we will share information to help improve your shopping experience and make it more personalized for you. The key update to the Privacy Statement explains how we will share information with merchants to personalize your shopping experience and recommend our services to you. Personal information we disclose includes, for example, products, preferences, sizes, and styles we think you’ll like. Information gathered about you after the effective date of our updated Privacy Statement, November 27, 2024, will be shared with participating stores where you shop, unless you live in California, North Dakota, or Vermont. For PayPal customers in California, North Dakota, or Vermont, we’ll only share your information with those merchants if you tell us to do so. No matter where you live, you’ll always be able to exercise your right to opt out of this data sharing by updating your preference settings in your account under “Data and Privacy.”
