Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 03/09/2026Okay, but she must have been licking his boots all these years for SOMETHING. What, if not something like this? However I agree your point is good, and quite possibly true. Time will tell. 120
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 03/09/2026My first thought is "because Trump is making her Press Secretary"? Anyone else? www.mediaite.com/media/news/b...mediaite.comFox News Parts Ways With Maria Bartiromo in Shock MoveFox News has abruptly parted ways with anchor Maria Bartiromo after 12-and-a-half years, the network announced, in a stunning press release Thursday. 120
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Is there even some sort of stated reason that Trump changed the name? He thinks it's too Canadian? I mean, I know it's not going to make sense; I just haven't actually heard a specific reason. 011
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 02/09/20262/2 and then they were out there far longer than the planned 7 months, with insufficient resources. So, yes, I will be at the pier to recognize them when they come in. If any onboard committed war crimes, we'll deal with that later, but hopefully starting much higher than this crew. 000
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 02/09/2026They left in Nov 2025 well before Trump declared war, so they certainly had no opportunity to object then. Very few would have had enough insight or foresight into what was happening through the spring and summer to refuse to comply with orders. 1/2 100

Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 21/06/2026I think I may be the only person who read it this way because it seems you all were able to absorb the insanity of cutting a gash in (checks notes) a pool, or its facade, which is not a pool word, and so - silly me - I looked for an interpretation that possibly made some sense. 000
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 21/06/2026The way I read it, the gash refers to the grass in the prior sentence? So I assumed he meant the carving of "86 47" in the grass adjacent to the pool. Which is a Bad Thing that I would never do and for sure I do not find it funny at all. 100

Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 05/04/2026Yes. With our geographic isolation and size, many Americans can afford to be oblivious. But many of us are aware, and are both concerned and mortified. 120
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 05/04/2026And your grandchildren will be in Europe in 80 years, and they as individuals will not be allowed opinions because it will be assumed that they have to answer for what Trump is doing now? 100
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 05/04/2026So you think all Swiss agree with that decision, would do the same thing again, and should be held responsible generations later, but should not apply that same standard to Americans post-Trump? 210
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 05/04/2026Can we avoid the what-about-ism and just try to stick with the point she’s making? There was no need to attack her or change the subject. 2100
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 05/04/2026So you’re saying Europe will forgive and forget our complicity, but that you won’t apply the same spirit to them? Individual Swiss don’t get an opinion now because they harbored Nazi money, but Americans will be welcomed back with open arms? 110
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 01/04/2026Uninformed opinion but I think they took it to definitively kill the premise (rather than leave it hanging as somehow unresolved), and also to credibly say they are not beholden to Trump. 030
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 17/03/2026I used to know Daniel when I lived nearby. Met his wife; have been to his home for events. I think he's great. I'm far removed from the district and haven't spoken to him in years, but can attest that he appeared to be a deeply-committed and involved community leader, and a wholly decent person. 001

Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 03/03/2026see, it sounds like she's talking about immigrants, but MAGA comments constantly accuse Democrats or liberals of hating America. Prepare for DHS (or some other agency) to "vet" Dems next. Anyone who doesn't drink the Trump Kool-Aid "hates America." 010
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 03/02/2026I'm in conversation with a serious bunch of MAGAts and they will tell you with an utterly straight face that all protests are "interference" with federal law enforcement agents and that all force used to end protests is warranted. 020

Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 23/12/2025Yes, tariffs are real money reflected in government coffers. But it's just redistributed money from American businesses and consumers. So he's saying, "Hey!!!! Look at all the money the government took from you! Hooray! Tariffs are working!" Why are so many people not seeing this? 050
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 17/12/2025Another way to understand this is that the industry is anticipating many more people with lesser (or no) insurance. These people will still need healthcare and will show up at hospitals. So costs are going up in the whole sector, with a big gap in revenue caused by the lack of subsidies. 010
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 17/12/2025All of the carriers responded by dramatically raising the premiums of commercial insurers as well, because uncertainty anywhere in the insurance universe is going to raise costs. Ask anyone who is in Open Enrollment now at work - premiums for the same plans up 20-30%. 130
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 13/12/2025Not the main point but it’s not just those 24 million people. In October when it first became clear the subsidies were disappearing, the carriers immediately raised their renewal rates for employer plans as well, citing uncertainty in the overall market. My company’s Blue Cross rates went up 32%. 000
Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 12/12/2025I have a relative who posts that "they" killed Charlie Kirk, just for talking to people about ideas. Not this one single person. "They," as in, the democrats. 020

Sonja @sandisonja23.bsky.social · 11/12/2025so true. The idea that an individual consumer would negotiate for his health care plan is ludicrous. I run a small practice and I have three full-time staff who ONLY verify insurance and try to obtain authorizations. 080
