🧡 Today is #Canada's National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Denise Boucher was a Dene girl from Łutsel K'e. In 1943, she died at St. Joseph's residential school. Her family wasn't told for a year. She was buried without them. Her grave marker went missing.

Imagine if all of us in #Toronto were crammed into an area 6x smaller than the city with no protection, sanitation or hospitals. Or if the entire pop of #Chicago were squeezed into 1/3rd the area of #Manhattan. Or if all ppl in #Brussels were jammed into a few neighborhoods, exposed to the elements.

⚠️The start of a #ceasefire (already violated) is not the end to accountability or outrage. Here's what I find absolutely abhorrent as I sift through our @msf.ca data: Over 2 million Palestinians being forced into 13% of #Gaza- a patch of land so small that the scale of suffering is catastrophic.

Bassel holds his children, nine-month-old Mohammed and 2.5-year-old Ibrahim, as his wife massages his amputated leg to relieve phantom limb pain. The family lives in a displacement tent in Mawasi, Khan Younis, after fleeing their home in Rafah. Bassel lost his leg after being shot months earlier while trying to access aid at a distribution point.
