"Can't let you do that, Star Fox" I provide the voice of Wolf O'Donnell in Star Fox for the Nintendo Switch 2. You can also hear me as Bill Grey, Granga Pilot, and Meteo Crusher Pilot. It's a privilege to contribute to the legacy of a series I've enjoyed since I was 5.

Escape From Ever After is definitely the MOST Paper Mario of the Paper Mario-likes. Also probably the best? The game's premise recognizes that much of what makes golden age Paper Mario funny is how it lovingly subverts what you think you know about the Mario world. Great game to kick off 2026. 4/5

All you need to know about Promise Mascot Agency is that it's a management sim card battler set in a Showa era town that you chaotically barrel through in your winged truck. The Yakuza influence is clear, but it would be insane to accuse this game of lacking originality. Bewildering and perfect.

The First Berserker: Khazan is more Niohlike than Soulslike. It makes some clever tweaks to the formula, but is weak on vibes. Fascinatingly bland script delivered by an extremely talented voice cast. Also: too hard. A rare DNF, for me.

I will play better games this year, but none will make me smile like Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. I always reach the end of these games surprised that Ryu Ga Gotoku managed to sneak a genuinely moving story into a funhouse of evil idols and underdog taco salesmen. They did it again!

Citizen Sleeper 2 is like if Disco Elysium wasn't funny at all. The prose gets a little purple, for my liking, but that's probably inevitable in a game with so many transcendentally beautiful moments. Can't make an omelette etc etc. I highly recommend it to people who like Books.

Still playing catch-up on 2024 games. Indika dares to ask "what if those Plague Tale games were awesome?" You play as a sad nun with a mysterious past in 19th century Russia, on a mission to deliver a letter while navigating severe religious psychosis. You can hold L2 to Pray.

Salóme Gunnarsdóttir (Maria in the Silent Hill 2 Remake) performed the motion capture for the character while pregnant. Daily reminder that developments in technology are great when they allow more artists to do more cool shit—not less.

Just got around to Who's Lila by @garageheathen.bsky.social. It's a reverse detective game where the central mechanic is dragging facial features around to express emotions. A must-buy for anyone who understands that the pupil cannot see itself and our personalities are - definitionally - imaginary.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is maybe the biggest surprise of 2024. MachineGames' new first-person adventure de-emphasizes gunplay, and focuses instead on the very-Indiana Jones moment when stealth fails and improvisatory melee tomfoolery commences. Unexpected and very late GOTY.

Silent Hill 2 is one of the most special games of all time, and the Remake has absolutely no business being as good as it is. Bloober's attention to detail is slavish. Nothing has been overlooked, and every deviation from the source feels like a valid choice. Looking forward to Born From A Wish.

Tactical Breach Wizards is an achingly funny game that also makes me feel like an evil genius. I love tactics games, but can often be overwhelmed by the scope of encounters. TBW's room-by-room progression makes it approachable, pickupable, and encourages wild experimentation. Great story too!

Continuing the trend of having no idea when things I do actually see the light of day: I'm the voice of Granger in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang as of the character revamp over a month(?) ago. Thanks to Moonton and director @kylehebert.com

Kicked off December with the Satoshi Kon holiday joint Tokyo Godfathers. I hadn't seen it before, and if you haven't I highly recommend it. Wholesome, lotta heart, genuinely funny. Free on Tubi, Pluto, and the Roku Channel. Hour and a half - the perfect movie length.

Oops I just learned that the @bangzoomstudios.com dub of Case Closed: Bride Of Halloween is out and has been since August. So if for any reason you'd like to go Back In Time—I'm in it as Jinpei Matsuda. Available on Prime Video, YouTube, Google Play, and iTunes. iTunes! Can you imagine?

Dave the Diver is the video game equivalent of a magician pulling an endless handkerchief out of their sleeve. Starts off pretty simple, but this thing just keeps unfurling.

My character Sol, in War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius has been released! Surreal to be the English voice of a Final Fantasy character. Also, saying "Square Enix" into a microphone while a couple of the good people from Square Enix looked on approvingly was honestly a career highlight.
