I happen to also oppose the death penalty, in my own culture.
But there are, and have been, many thousands of human cultures.
Some of them have norms involving the payment of a life with a life.
Labeling every one of those traditions and value systems as "sick" is NOTHING MORE THAN COLONIALISM.
