The alleged theft highlights the significance of this achievement. If true (both the proof and the theft), this then means that super intelligence is (efficiently) reproducible, which is obviously not true with human intelligence. Also, Gallup released a political party identification poll last week. The Democrats now have a 10% lead over the GOP. In Nov. '24, the GOP had a lead of 4%. This lead, for the Democrats, is the largest since Oct. 2018, shortly before Obama won. So, this Gallup poll is a confirmation of this result

Hannah Arnedt argued in "The Origins of Totalitarianism" that the root of modern evil is not thinking. That is, it isn't a willful mindfulness to do evil but it's simply thoughtlessness. It's going along with whatever your group, political party, ethnicity, etc., wants from you without thinking.

If the strategy of the GOP is predictable, shouldn't it be possible to come up with a counter strategy? All that's then required is to either prepare for the move or prepare for a counter move. Without the ability of surprise, the strategy of your opponent is almost meaningless.

Workers' share of GDP is at its lowest point on record whereas the corporate share is near record highs. This dynamic may exacerbate as Trump's fiscal policies disproportionately benefit corporations and the wealthy.

Don't think the difference is linear. Most likely, it's logarithmic. That is, the unit of difference isn't one percent but as the difference approaches the historical maximum, it quickly becomes bigger. A (wild) guess: 6% (or so) is the largest difference post-2010 (or so) achievable.

This is a circular argument. The money that Trump wants to charge is for protection. But, the reason that ships need to be protected is because neither the blockade nor bombing targets in Iran has stopped the attacks on ships. So, the US hasn't demonstrated it can stop Iran from bombing ships.

This reasoning assumes a constant variance. That is, the results of previous elections can be used to get an error function that's approximate to future elections. Given turbulent economic conditions (relatively high inflation) and political instability am not sure that this reasoning is accurate.
